OWENS POV
I really like her. So much. I mean she's perfect. I don't understand why she stays with Mark, he treats her so badly, and she deserves so much better. I walked out of my bathroom and down into the kitchen where Amelia was. She was on her phone and I knew she was probably texting Mark.
"Hey," She said as I went to the fridge.
"Hey," I said.
"What's up?" She said.
"Nothing much," I said. I sat across from her and she looked up from her phone.
"Should I break up with him?" She asked, and of course I wanted to say yes, god I liked Amelia so much, but she wouldn't go for me after this breakup.
"I don't know," I shrugged.
"I love him," she sighed, "I really love him Owen, and I know he loves me, but I feel like we're just bad for each other, and we hurt each other." I didn't know what to say because I didn't want to hurt her because she was clearly hurting.
"Maybe give him another chance?" I suggested.
"I feel like it's chance after chance," She frowned.
"Oh," I said.
"Yeah," she said, "it's just- I don't know."
"Yeah," I said.
"How're you?" She asked, "you know after Christina."
"Eh," I shrugged, "guess I'm okay."
"I'm sorry," she said.
"It's okay," I said. Her phone rang and she looked over and it was Derek. She declined it and looked up.
"Should I still be mad at him?" She asked.
"I mean I don't know what was said so I'm not sure," I said honestly.
"Neither do I," she shrugged, "I never asked Mark we just argued about it."
"Yeah," I said.
"Thanks for letting me stay here again," she said quietly, "I appreciate it."
"Of course," I smiled. God her smile was so pretty.
AMELIAS POV
Talking to Owen was nice. Really nice. We were sitting in his kitchen and my mind just went to Mark. I missed him. I wanted to just stop fighting with him, but I feel like it'll never stop. Owen was really sweet and I'm glad he's a good friend and letting me stay here.
"Hey Amelia?" Owen said.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Derek doesn't know you're here right?" Owen said.
"No he doesn't. Why?" I said.
"Cause he asked if you were here and wanted to make sure I'm supposed to say no," he chuckled.
"Thank you," I smiled.
"Of course," he said. I felt my phone buzz and it was Mark. I looked at the notification and it read, "Are you at Owens?". I didn't know how he knew or how to respond, so I didn't, if he wanted to talk he would come back.
"Are you hungry?" Owen asked.
"Kinda," I chuckled.
"Do you eat Chinese food I'm too lazy to cook," he chuckled.
"Yeah that's fine because I can't cook," I laughed. He laughed and I smiled. He ordered the food and we decided to watch a movie because there was nothing else to do. We ate Chinese food and sat on his couch and I was exhausted from fighting with Derek and Mark today. I wasn't even paying attention to the movie because all I could think about was them.
OWENS POV
The movie was halfway over and Amelia put her head on my shoulder. I looked down and she had closed her eyes. I smiled and put my arm around her. I was really tired too and I decided to close my eyes as well. I just couldn't believe I had my arm around Amelia Shepherd.
-
I felt Amelia start to wake up. I looked down and she rubbed her eye and sat up. My arm was still around her and I quickly moved it before she noticed. She looked at me and smiled.
"So how was the movie?" She chuckled.
"I mean I don't know I fell asleep too," I chuckled.
"Oh," she chuckled. She was so cute. She pulled her hair into a bun and smiled.
"I'm gonna go to bed," she said.
"Okay," I said.
"Goodnight," She said.
"Goodnight," I said.
AMELIAS POV
I walked into Owens guest bedroom and crawled into bed. I was so tired I kinda fell asleep on Owens shoulder, I kinda hope he didn't mind. I plugged in my phone and when I did I had a bunch of texts from Mark. The last one read, "Amelia if I'm flying home tonight Okay?". I realized he'd know I was here, that text was an hour ago. He'd be here so soon. I ran back downstairs and Owen was on the couch.
"If Mark comes here I'm not here," I said.
"He's coming?" He asked.
"No but he's flying back," I said.
"Oh okay," he said.
"Yeah," I said.
"Okay," he said.
"Okay Goodnight," I said.
"Goodnight," he said. I unlocked my phone and texted Mark back.
"I'll see you in the morning," I sent. I knew he wouldn't see it for a while so I crawled back into bed and decided to close my eyes.
MARKS POV
I fucked up, so badly. She was hurting and I left her. I fucking left her. I was now back in Seattle and I knew she didn't want to see me. I texted her but she was probably sleeping. I went back to my apartment and she wasn't here. I texted Owen because I knew she was there.
"Hey is Amelia with you?" I sent.
"No," he sent. Of course he was going to lie, I hated the idea of her spending the night there.
"Okay thanks," I sent, because I knew if I started a fight with him Amelia and I would be done for good. I got into bed and I couldn't sleep because I missed her so much. This is the second night in a row she hasn't been here, and I miss her. I looked over at her side of the bed and frowned.
-
I was walking into work and I saw Amelia talking to Owen, which made me so fucking mad. Who the fuck did he think he was. I walked over to her and she stopped talking to him.
"Can we talk?" I asked, practically begged.
"Yeah," she said, "see you later Owen." I walked down the hall with her and into her office.
"So," She said and closed the door.
"I'm sorry," I said, "I'm so sorry Amy I am oh my god. I messed up, I did so much, Derek got on my nerves but I shouldn't have hit him. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have ran last night, you were hurting and I ran and let you run. I should have begged you to stay. Should have talked it out. And for sure, I shouldn't have ran to LA. I'm sorry Amelia, I love you, I really do, and I'm sorry."
"Can I ask you something?" She said.
"Absolutely," I said.
"What did Derek say to you, that made you
Hit him?" She asked in a small voice.
"He said I didn't deserve you," I said.
"He said that?" She said.
"Yeah Amy that's why I hit him," I said.
"I didn't know that," she said.
"I still shouldn't have hit him anyway," I said.
"You're right," she said.
"And I'm sorry," I said.
"I forgive you," she said.
"I love you Amy," I smiled.
"I love you too," she smiled.
