Katy's POV
Ansel and I were watching a horror movie together again. He got his cast off today and got a brace on instead.
I screamed as a face popped up on the TV. I heard him laughing at me so I punched him playfully on the arm. "Ow!" He said sarcastically, grabbing his arm. I giggled.
I started to drift off on Ansel's shoulder. I felt him move so that my elbow wasn't going into his stomach.
Ansel's POV
I felt Katy's head fall onto my shoulder. I smiled as I looked down at the sleeping beauty leaning against me. I moved a little so that her skinny arm wasn't jabbing me which made me laugh a little. My phone buzzed and I puck it up to see my girlfriend's, Mary's, name come across the screen, I hit the ignore button and wrapped my arm around Katy.
Mary and I have been dating for a month and she was only with me because she wanted to sleep with me, I knew that. I was only with her because my mom was the one that asked her out for me and I didn't want to disappoint her. My mom would be furious if I dumped Mary. I don't even like her a bit. She acts so nice in front of my mom but she's actually a total bitch. She's a slut too.
I started to fall asleep too.
- the next morning -
I woke up and Katy was still sleeping on my shoulder. I slid out from under her and laid her down gently. Then I grabbed my phone and headed out.
When I got home Mary was sitting on my front porch. "Why the hell haven't you answer my call or texts?!" She yelled standing up and grabbing my shirt then pulling me close.
"I was with a friend." I said pulling her hands off of me. "Why are you so clingy?" I mumbled.
"Excuse me?!" She yelled. I walked away from her and sat down on the end of the porch. I sat there for about three minutes until she sat down next to me and kissed me. I pushed away from her and stood up to walk back to my car and leave. "Baby!" She yelled. I turned to go down the steps of my porch and I looked up to see Katy standing there. I immediately felt a pain in my gut.
"You left this at my house." She said holding my hat up. I didn't smile like I usually did when I saw her. She just saw Mary and me kiss. I didn't exactly want her to see Mary and me kiss. I didn't even like kissing Mary.
"Thanks." I said walking up to her and she stuck the hat in my hands. She was obviously reading my mind. 'Something wrong?' She said but no sound came out. I shook my head but winked at her and she smiled slightly.
She walked back to her car and drove off.
I turned around and walked back to my house. Mary put her hands on her hips. "You stayed the night at another girl's house?" She asked. Then my mother came out of the house and saw us. "Something going on here?" She asked.
Of course, Mary got right into her little act.
"I think he's cheating on me!" She cried tears rolling down her face. She was such a faker. A little bitch.
My mom grabbed her and held her close. I rolled my eyes and ran to my car. I drove off angrily. I pulled up into my friend, Mason's, driveway. I walked up to the door. Before I even knocked he opened the door. "Hey man." He said, he grew up in the country so he had a weird accent but it didn't bother me. "Hey." I said and we fist pumped. I came in. "Watched another show just a few minutes ago." I said. Whenever I said that it meant that Mary lied and acted all girly and weak.
"Damn she's good ain't she!" He said and patted me on the back. I let a little chuckle escape.
Mason was Katy's cousin, I didn't find out till last week about that. He wasn't the inappropriate one, that was Danny. Mason was a good guy.
We talked for a while. Then my phone buzzed and I looked to see a text message from Mary. 'Baby please come back. I got a present for you!' The message read, I ignored her. She acted so clingy, even though she didn't love me. The only time she said I love you was ounce over a text message.
Then my phone buzzed again and this time it was from Katy. 'So what's wrong?' She said. I called her and explained to her how Mary was using me and everything. She said I could stop by if I wanted. And I wanted too. "I gotta run." I said to Mason. "When you gonna have the balls to admit you like my cousin?" He asked. I looked back at him. "See ya later Mason." I said then walked out the door. I felt bad I didn't tell him I did. But what was the point if he already knew. I pulled up in Katy's driveway. She told me to meet her out back, so I did.
She was swinging on a swing hanging off a huge tree in her backyard.
"Why are you dating her?" She asked not looking at me.
Because I like you, I thought but didn't say it out loud.
"Because, I don't want to hurt my mom." I said. She looked at me with a 'really' face.
"You're a nineteen year old boy!" She said jumping off the swing. "It's your last year of being a fucking teenager. Enjoy it while you can. Are you going to let some bitch bring you down? Just because your mom likes her doesn't mean you have to date her."
I smiled as she did a kart wheel. "That was inspiring." I said. "Shut up!" She laughed.
Then I thought.
I want to spend my last teenager year with you, Kaitlin Reed.
