Have you ever tried to travel deep inside of yourself?
To the very depth of your subconscious
To find the source of all the pain your mind feels
Only to find that you're the one hurting it
You're the one throwing childish insults made of sticks and stones at yourself
"You're worthless"
"They don't actually care about you"
"You're never going to look like her or any of them"
Throwing your own self under the bus to mutilate your self esteem
You try to look at yourself the way everyone important in your life describes you
But the parts that don't want to be seen keep breaking the mirror
Propelling you into more bad luck
Although what you fail to recognize is that you control every part
Even the ones that don't want to be shown
You are the director
The writer
The star
And there are some days where your artistic vision may fade
You may develop writers block
Or you may even want to end production permanently
But in those days
I ask that you don't stop trying to imagine
That you pick up the pen anyway
And that you continue to travel inside yourself
Even when it hurts the most
