Chapter Eight

//love your family

Opening her eyes, KiKu snuggled more into her mothers arms. Letting the warmth of her mothers embrace get to her, she thought about the night. She had a bad nightmare about loosing everyone she loved.  

"Good morning, sunshine. How are you feeling?", her mother asked quietly while picking some streaks of her daughters streaks and putting them behind her ears. 

"Better. Thank you for last night.", KiKu whispered as she turned around and locked eyes with her mother. 

"Of course, don't think about these things. I won't ever leave you, We won't ever leave you. Even if I'm upset or angry.", her mother said and KiKu noticed her vision getting blurry again. Her dream really hit her hard. 

"Aigoo, my small baby.", her mother hugged her daughter again tightly, when her husband came in. 

"You guys are awake? I made breakfast, go quickly wash yourselves!", he said with an apron around his torso and a kitchen towel in his hand. 

The two women nodded and got up. Byun Areum turned the radio on and turned it very loud, before her and KiKu went brushing their teeth. While brushing they laughed and let the music lift their mood. Areum was concerned about KiKu. Her own mother always told her that dreams were a warning and since she believed a lot in spiritual things, she was concerned. After washing up, the two of them walked into the kitchen where KiKu's father Jonghyun was preparing the table. 

"Good morning, appa. It smells delicious...", KiKu helped her father and got cups and put the tea onto the table. They all sat down and began eating after everything was sat up. 

"How was the party last night?", Jonghyun asked since the night before hadn't had the best atmosphere to ask questions.

"It was great but oh my, I didn't knew that Eunhee had such a big house. Well, I should have known. She's a Kwon.", KiKu said while taking a sip of there green tea. 

"Oh really? What did you guys do?"

"Yeah, her halmeoni even told me that she was friends with halmeoni long ago, but they lost contact after they went traveling.", her mother nodded before asking.

"What was her halmeonis name?"

"Eomma, she didn't even know that halmeoni had children. Well, and I don't know. I didn't ask for her name.", Areum turned to look at her husband. 

"Jonghyun-ah, did your mother ever say something about a friend with the surname Kwon?"

"You know my mother didn't tell me much about her life, you should think. You know her better than me, even if she is your mother-in-law.", Areum began thinking but she couldn't think of anyone with the surname Kwon who her mother-in-law could have mentioned. 

"Never mind, I'm gonna ask halmeoni, so don't worry.", KiKu started eating after tying her hair in a ponytail.

"Where there any cute guys?", her father interrupted her mother "Why would you ask her for cute boys!"

As her parents got into a heated discussion over KiKu's love life and wanting to know more of the last evening, KiKu chuckled. I'm so grateful for them.

A/N

Small filler chapter! So you get to know a bit more of their relationship and that they are a very very close family! I thought It was great to have an family where they don't directly hate the protagonist etc. and I thought these kind of things are more realistic!
