"happiness is the sound of an ice cream truck"

Diego drove discreetly behind Hazel's car. We ended up at a motel not too far from Griddy's.

Diego held up a tiny tracker, "I'm going to plant this on their car. Wait here."

He got out of the car and snuck over to Hazel and Cha-Cha's vehicle. Diego rolled under their car and planted the tracker. He swiftly walked back to his own and got inside.

"What's the plan?" I asked.

"The plan is for you two to stay here, while I go and kill them," he smirked.

"What're you talking about? This guy tortured me!" Klaus objected.

"These assholes have been trying to kill Five and I," I exclaimed.

Diego looked between Klaus and I. "I have a plan."

Klaus took a large drink out of some alcohol bottle. "You do know that killing these people is not gonna make you feel any better."

"Yeah, but when it's done I'm gonna sleep like a baby." Diego said cheerfully as he got out of the car and left.

I rolled my eyes. "There's no way I'm staying here."

"Well, I'm going if you're going!" Klaus clapped.

Klaus and I silently left Diego's car and followed him up the steps of the motel. He had two sharp knives held in both of his hands, and was about to turn the corner to attack.

"So, what exactly is the plan here, big guy?" Klaus leaned on Diego.

"I told you two to wait in the car," he stated irritatingly.

"Yeah, well, you gave orders to the two people least likely listen so that's on you," I shot back.

Klaus high-fived me, while Diego replied, "Touché."

"You also told me that licking a nine-volt battery would give me pubes," Klaus said as he chugged the bottle of alcohol.

Diego faced Klaus. "We were eight."

Klaus shrugged and walked ahead of him, but Diego quickly pulled him back. He directed Klaus back down the stairs. "What? Come on," Klaus huffed.

"For once in your life, I need you to listen to me, okay?" Diego urged.

He continued walking Klaus down the steps and I watched from above. "Now, go back to the car, and if Alexa and I don't come out in two minutes, that means we're probably dead. If that happens, go get help."

Klaus sighed. "Yeah, okay, okay."

I saw Klaus walk away; Diego climbed up the steps again. He held his knives closely and kicked open a door, which was most likely Hazel and Cha-Cha's. We peeked inside of the motel room. It was completely empty, but signs showed that someone was there.

A car engine revved in the distance. Diego and I turned around and walked over towards the railing.

Hazel and Cha-Cha appeared in a small car speeding down the street. They began firing shots at us. A bullet grazed Diego's arm as I quickly reached out for him. Bullets flew through us as I enabled my powers. Hazel and Cha-Cha continued driving down the street and out of sight.

I let go of Diego. He looked at me with wide eyes. "What?" I questioned.

He shook his head. "Come on, they're getting away." Diego ran down the stairs.

I followed him. "A simple 'thank you' would suffice."

Diego and I ran in the middle of the street and watched Hazel and Cha-Cha drive off.

"Get in the car," he demanded.

I turned to his car as Klaus was getting out of it.

"They shot the damn wheels," I reported.

Klaus kicked the tires angrily and grunted. "Was this all part of your master plan?"

Diego growled. "Shut up."

"Well, now what're we supposed to do?" Klaus whined.

"Maybe we can break into one of these cars. I can hot wire the engine or—" Diego began.

I cut in. "Or! We can steal this ice cream truck." I was already sitting inside of the cold vehicle. I patted the side of it and smiled.

Klaus laughed and jumped in, Diego gave me an approving nod and followed.

Klaus drove the ice cream truck I had broken into, while Diego gave directions. He used the tracker he had planted under Hazel and Cha-Cha's car and navigated us towards them.

"Hey, I see people!" I pointed ahead.

The truck was approaching a group of four people near a vacant gas station. As we drove closer, I recognized the people as Hazel, Cha-Cha, Luther, and Five.

"Go faster," Diego shouted.

As we passed Five and Luther, I leaned out of the window and waved happily. Luther hesitatingly waved back, while Five just looked completely confused.

"Its a setup!" Cha-Cha screamed at Hazel. They pulled out their pistols and began firing shots at us, but our ice cream truck hit them first. Hazel and Cha-Cha were sent flying threw the air.

The truck slammed into their car, which caused Diego, Klaus, and I to jolt forward.

I groaned and unbuckled my seatbelt.

"Good god!" Klaus remarked.

I hopped out of the ice cream truck and looked around for Five. He wasn't there though; it was like he just disappeared.

"Five?" Luther called out.

Hazel and Cha-Cha slowly rose to their feet. Luther lifted up a briefcase and yelled, "Come get it!"

He threw it to the side of the rode, and the two chased after it. Luther ran over to the ice cream truck and grabbed his siblings. He ushered us all into the small car. "Get in the car."

We rushed into the car and quickly settled down.

"Luther! Go, go, go," Klaus exclaimed.

Luther began driving the car away. Klaus turned around in his seat and flipped off Hazel and Cha-Cha.
