"i don't know what i feel anymore"

Five and I had spent most of the morning in his room. I flipped through a random book as he thought about his Father's death.

A lightbulb went off in his head as his eyes widened, and he walked over to Klaus's room. I put the book down and walked over as well.

Five knocked on the door and opened it, revealing Klaus, who was currently knitting or trying to knit at least.

"Hey. Get up, we're going," Five spoke urgently.

"Where?" Klaus asked slightly intrigued.

"To save the world," Five answered casually.

I laughed at how absurd that would sound to an average person.

"Oh, is that all? Great," Klaus said sarcastically. He put down the ball of yarn he was using and got up from his bed. Klaus began getting ready for our next adventure.

"So, Pogo said Dad killed himself to get us all back together, right?" Five spoke, mainly to himself though.

"Yeah, so?" Klaus asked.

Five began pacing. "So it got me thinking. I had to jump to the future to figure out when it happened, but Dad, he can't time travel. So how'd the crazy bastard actually know how to kill himself a week before the end of the world?"

"Lucky guess?" I joked and smiled.

Five smiled too, "Cute."

I felt blush rise to my cheeks, so I looked away trying to hide it.

Klaus tried to come up with a valid reason too. "Well, you know—"

"Don't answer. That was purely rhetorical," Five cut him off.

Klaus rolled his eyes.

"Truth is, our whole lives, he's been telling us we'd save the world from an impending apocalypse," Five recalled.

I tilted my head. "How did he predict that there was going to be an apocalypse though?"

Five shrugged. "I don't know."

"I always thought he just said that to scare us into doing the dishes," Klaus exclaimed as he slipped on his sneakers.

"Me too! But what if the old man really knew it was going to happen?" Five theorized.

"Yeah, but knew how?" Klaus wondered.

I thought out loud. "It's not like he could predict the future, right?"

"No idea," Five admitted. "But the fact remains, his fakakta plan worked. We all came home. Since we're here, we might as well save the world."

Klaus smirked. "Oh yeah? What, like, the three of us?"

"Well, ideally, no, but I gotta work with what I got," Five said as we all walked out Klaus's room.

"Yeah, I agree. Alexa is kinda dead weight," Klaus whispered to Five.

I elbowed him. "Hey! He's talking about you." Klaus and I both laughed.

As Five, Klaus, and I walked down the hall, Diego appeared running out of his bedroom in a hurry.

"Where have you been?" Five asked Diego.

"Jail," Diego responded simply. "Long story, where's Luther?"

"Haven't seen him since breakfast," Five commented.

"Yeah. Two days until the world ends, he picks a great time to drop off the grid," Klaus sighed.

"You Hargreeves always have such perfect timing," I added.

"Shit," Diego muttered. "Alison is in danger."

We all looked at each with wide eyes, and rushed out of the Academy to find Luther.

Klaus had an idea to search all the bars in town, which ended up working because we found Luther in an Irish pub.

"Look." Klaus pointed at Luther, who was sitting at a small table alone.

The four of us walked into the bar and crowded him.

"Trying a little hair of the dog are we?" Klaus asked Luther.

"Leave me alone," Luther replied as he downed another drink.

Diego sat down next to his brother. "Give us a minute."

"Okay, come on. Maybe they'll brood each other to death," Klaus joked.

Five, Klaus, and I walked back over to the front door and waited for Diego and Luther to finish talking.

A few minutes passed and the men quickly stood up.

"You should have led with that!" Luther shouted.

Luther sprinted towards the door and pulled it open. Klaus pushed Five and I along as we all rushed to rescue Alison.

The sky turned into a dusty, grey-blue shade as the sun began to set. Five was driving us to Harold Jenkins's grandmother's house. It felt like we had been on the road for days.

Luther leaned forward in his seat. "Hey. Can you go any faster?"

"Ask me again, and I'll burn you with the cigarette lighter," Five replied, his eyes still glued to the road as he accelerated slightly faster.

After the long car ride, we finally made it to a cabin in the middle of the woods. The house was very eery and it definitely screamed 'horror movie.'

Everyone swiftly got out of the car and ran to the porch. Luther kicked open the front door and ran into the cabin.

"Alison! No!" Luther ran over to her stiff body that was lying on the floor in a puddle of blood.

My hand shakily moved to cover my mouth as I gaped at the scene.

Alison's throat had been slashed deeply and was gushing blood. The only sign that she was still alive was her sporadic blinking.

"Oh, my God. Alison." Luther held her head in his hands and quietly sobbed.

Everyone was stunned and devastated as Alison slowly bled to death.
