"We don't know what happened." Alex answered with his voice shaking. I glanced at them and looked on my sword. I screamed as I threw my sword on the floor. "What's wrong? Mal, are you alright?" Alex immediately comforted me as I tried to calm myself down. "My... Sword is glowing!" I stuttered. We slowly approached my sword and saw the sword's emerald gem glowing. "What's happening to your sword?" Karlos asked as he peeked behind Sam. "I. Don't know. I think it's gaining powers but I don't know where and how."
As we watch my sword glowing, I tried reaching to it. I held my sword and the glowing stopped. I looked at Alex with confusing eyes. "Alex, can I borrow your sword for a while?" "Uhm. Sure." He withdraw his sword and handed it to me. I looked at Alex's sword that is made out of a rare mineral that makes it dark purple. As I examine his sword, I saw an emerald on it but it looked more darker than the emerald on my sword.
"Alex, where did you get this sword?" I asked as I held the swords in a parallel position. "My dad gave it to me after we finished guard training in the academy. He gave it to me as a gift." I glanced at him and the others and looked back on the swords. I tried crossing the swords at each other and I felt a negative push on the swords as if it tries to separate at each other.
I looked back on the guys and gave Alex's sword back to him. "It looks like these swords are ancient. We should better keep this to ourselves." I concluded as I deposit back my sword from its bag. "I'll try asking Dad about this sword." Alex suggested as he stood by me. "Great idea. Me and Karlos can try and find books about ancient weapons. That way we can at least try and learn more about these mysteries." Sam added as Karlos nodded.
We all agreed that we kept it a secret. Alex whispered at me with a smirk on his face. "You still owe me a battle to score on." "Let's save that battle for now. We still need to find out more about these swords and its connection with each other." I smiled at him and pinched his cheeks playfully.
As we parted ways for now, I immediately ran to my room and change into my everyday attire and get ready for my inspection in the city. As I looked at my reflection, I saw my eyes glowing wildly again. I backed away and tried to calm myself down to stop my eyes from glowing. As I try to calm down, I saw my sword in the corner glowing as well. I withdraw it and looked at its beautiful emerald gem. As calmed myself, I suddenly remembered my dream last night. Mal, you will lead the mission one day to fulfill your duty. Suddenly, those words rang in my head giving me the flashback on the dream and the chill on my spine.
As I shook myself up, I deposit my sword back and looked at the mirror again to see that my eyes stopped glowing. I sighed in relief and looked at the time. "Oh Shoots! I might miss Kim at our inspection!" I quickly rushed to the courtyard with my bag full of necessities. I immediately saw Kim in her attire with a small bag on her side. "Shall we go now?" I asked her. She answered me with a nod and we both headed to the carriage.
