Chapter 9: Last Call

"Hey M!" Magnus said with a smile. I smiled back at them. "Looks like you guys are having a wonderful time eating your foods." I said teasing them. "Well yeah." Karlos said with food stuffed in his face. Me and Alex giggled. We both took plates and utensils and started getting foods. As we approached the table, Alex puts down his plate and took mine and puts it on the table and helps me in sitting. "Alex..." "You looked like you need help plus this is the only thing I can do to repay your kindness and care for me from the past." "Awww. You're too sweet. Thanks by the way, for everything." "No problem."

As he sat down beside me, we heard the others teasing us. I looked at them with mischief in my eyes and said to them in a scary way. "Look you guys, if you don't stop the tease, the tease will aim at you instead of us." I managed to use my powers to poof them outside the banquet. I didn't hear anything after that. "Nice work Mal!" "Thanks. I'm already pissed off with their teasing on us." Alex giggled and pinched my cheeks. "I know right. They're annoying." I giggled back. After we ate and a little chit chat, we headed to the courtyard.

I walked towards the front beside Magnus while Alex sat beside Sam and Karlos up front. "Everyone, I would like to welcome you our new recruits! Sam Pearl, Karlos Purr and Alex Yamaseba!" As I introduce the three they stood up and waved. After they waved, they looked back at me and gave me a salute. I saluted back at them and continued.

After 10 mins. of speech and planning for the following days, I dismissed all of them and they left. I saw the three walking towards me. "Hey Mal, one question, where are we going to stay?" I heard Karlos asking. "You guys will be escorted to your rooms. Don't worry your stuffs are already there." I winked at them and saw the three of them blushed. I giggled and turned to Magnus. "Can you escort them to their room? I have a business to attend to." "Sure thing M." Magnus said with glee and grabbed Sam and Karlos' arms and dragged them away while Alex tries to catch up to them. As they left, I quickly went to the throne room where my mom --- Margaret Kurenai --- is.

I bowed down to her and greeted her. "Your highness." "Mal, princess, you don't need to bow down to me like you're not my daughter. Stand up and always approach me as a mother rather than a queen." As I heard her answer, I quickly went to her and stood beside her. "Mom, why did you call me here?" I asked her and saw the sadness on her face. "My little monster of mine, I want to tell you something very urgent." I looked at her with a serious face. "What is it?" "I am going on a trip outside Basilicus." I looked at her with in shock. "W-why? Is there something wrong outside Basilicus?" "No. Nothing's wrong. There is just a meeting that called us." I sigh in relief and smiled at her. "I see. How long are you gonna be away?" "Maybe a month I suppose. I'm not sure how long it will take but I'm sure I'll be fine." "Okay Mom. When are you going to leave?" "The day after tomorrow. The sooner I leave, the sooner I get home by the time it is done." I smiled at her. "Alright Mom. Night mom, love you mom." "Good night Mal and love you too." I hugged mom and felt a kiss on my forehead. As I closed the door to the throne room, I saw Alex waiting for me.
