Chapter 5: The new recruits

As we get ourselves ready, Magnus took a deep breath and opened the  door. I didn't see who they were but I saw Magnus and the new recruits having a secret handshake like they are all friends.

I tried not to look dumb and calmed myself down. As the new recruits enter the room, I was surprised at them. "A-alex?!?! Sam! Karlos? You guys are the new recruits?!?!" I didn't believe that it will be them. "Mal?!?! You're our captain?!?!" I suddenly saw them looking at me with eyes wide open. Magnus all of a sudden snapped all of us out.

I shook myself and calmed myself down. I suddenly looked at them with a smile on my face. "Mal, is that really you?" "Yeah. It's me alright." I turned to Alex looking the other way blushing bright red. As I saw him, I suddenly heard Magnus' serious voice. "Come on. Let's start the interview." I nod at him and started the interview.

When the interview ended, I invited the 3 to have lunch with me. The 3 agreed and followed me at the banquet hall. I suddenly looked behind and saw Magnus being the 5th wheel. "Hey Magnus!" As I called he looked at me, "wanna join us? We still have room for one more." He suddenly brighten up and picked up his pace. Karlos suddenly throw his arm around his neck. "Don't be Mr. Lonely, Magnus." I heard his answer in a low yet teasing voice. "Yeah yeah. Just don't throw your arms like that okay?" "Alright." I saw the four of them laughing and smiling at each other and I joined them.

When we got to the banquet hall, there were many different kinds of dishes. "Well guys, get some food and knock yourself out with digging in." I saw them getting their own plates, utensils and foods. I smiled while looking at them then I felt a hand touching my shoulder. I saw Alex smiling at me. "You look happy to see us again, huh?" "Yeah, I missed the old days. Especially with you." I blushed all of a sudden. Suddenly I felt Alex touching my ears like I'm a dog. "Hey! Stop it! It tickles." I giggled as I tried to stop him. "I really missed you so much. My little Monster." "I missed you too, my wild Animal." I giggled as I tried to touch his ears and play with it. I felt that we blushed at the same time as we locked our eyes like we were under a spell. Alex suddenly shook up and giggled as he pulls away slowly. "You really know how to tease me." "Of course I do. I am your best friend." We suddenly approached the banquet and started getting some foods.

We sat next to each other and giggled. "What did you guys do?" I was suddenly surprised with Sam's question. "Oh, we're just watching you guys eat." At the same time, I giggled on Alex's tease on Sam, Karlos and Magnus. The 3 exchanged looks at each other. Then silence came in our eating. After eating and chit chats, Alex suddenly whispered at me. "Can I come to your room later? I want to hang out with you again." I whispered back at him. "Sure thing. Knock on my door after last call." "Okay." I looked at him again and smiled at him as he smiled back. Then I heard Magnus calling Alex. "Hey Alex! Let's go now!" "Alright, I'll be there." As he turned at me, he blushed. "Cya later then." "Cya." I smiled at him and blushed when all of a sudden he licked at me on the cheeks. He ran up to Magnus and Sam and left the hall.

As I tried to calm myself down from bedazzling at Alex's lick on my cheek, I was startled from Kim's greetings. "Hey there M! Ready to start your duties as the princess." "Gah! Geez! You scared me Kim!" I shouted as I jumped and fell on the floor. Kim helped me up and repeated my schedule as the princess. I didn't realized that Kim was there. As she finishes her message to me, I asked her. "Are you ready for another trip later?" "Of course I do!" We giggled as we approach the courtyard. "You should better get going. Meet me at my room later for the next inspection." "Alright!" She answered with a squeak on her voice. Then she ran back to where she came from. I laughed as I watch her disappear and I started going to the courtyard for my sword training.
