Chapter 11: A reunion banquet pt. 1

Morning came and I woke up, frozen. As I open my eyes, I tried to dodge the lights from my window. "Ugh." I tried moving but I can't. I turned to my side and saw Alex's face inches away from me. My eyes widened trying to calm myself down. I tried waking him up. No result. "Alex, wake up." As my voice cracked from the relaxation, I forced myself to fall down off my bed with a thud. I then heard Alex wake up. "Mal!"

I tried to fix myself immediately but I was caught red handed. "Are you alright?" "Yeah, I'm fine." I saw Alex lending me a hand. As I accept it, I lost balance and felt a warm feeling as I saw the arms that caught my fall. I moved away from Alex and blushed. "T-thanks f-for catching my f-fall." I stuttered. I looked at him and saw him blushing as well. "S-sorry." He stutter. I giggled at him as he approach me with a smirk on his face.

I blushed as I face him. As our eyes lock, I heard him asking. "How's your sleep?" I blushed as I answer him back. "It was... fine." I immediately turn away from him. Then the silence broke in. We ended up fixing ourselves without any words. After we fixed ourselves, Alex left the room blushing. As he close the door, I flop myself on the bed. "Ugh! That was awkward." I felt a warm feeling on my face as I smile slightly.

I heard a knock on the door so I immediately stand up and walk towards the door. As I answer the door, I saw one of mom's maid smiling at me. "Good morning Princess Mal." "Oh! Good morning, is there something wrong?" "Oh! Nothing's wrong. The queen wants to talk to you. She's at the throne room right now." I suddenly became curious. "I see. Alright, I'll be there in a moment." As I close the door, I suddenly felt a chill down my spine.

As I approach the throne room, I heard mom's voice in a sad tune. I peek in the key hole and saw mom talking to someone. I can't figure out who she is talking to but its someone trustworthy enough for her I guess. As I take a deep breath, I opened the door and felt a chill running down my spine. "Oh, Mal! You're here." I was greeted by mom then I turned to the person she was talking to but he was wearing a mask. "Mom, who's this?" I looked at the person mom was talking with and noticed he has the same red hair like Alex but he doesn't have any ears and tail. Mom immediately broke the silence. "He is going to be your new personal bodyguard." In shock, my eyes widened. "What?!?! Mom! You know I can handle myself as a Princess and an Alpha! You know that!"

Mom's expression became dark and tries to show a faint smile. "Monster look, right now we have to take our security forces into the next level that means we need to make our protection more powerful than the danger that is lurking around us." I stared at her with serious eyes. "Mal, please understand the situation right now. I know it's going to be hard but please you---." I immediately cut her off. "I understand mom. I'll try my best to adjust in the situation." As I looked at her, I saw her smile growing that it became contagious and made me smile as well. "Thank you, my monster."

As I heard mom's voice, I immediately ask her about her trip. "Hey mom, one question. Where are you even going tomorrow? That trip just came out of the blue." As I finish asking, I heard mom giggling so excitedly. "Oh! I'm going to have a meeting with the guardians of the realm. We were actually going to think of arranging a room for new recruits." My eyes widened from what mom said. The guardians of the realm?!?! Can you imagine the respect and luckiness that you can get when you're part of it?

"Really?!?! That's cool! Hey mom can you note if there will be a room new recruits? I want to get in line first so that I can't wait for the time for making a guardian itself." Mom giggled at my reaction. She knew that my biggest dream was to become a guardian of the realm. "Sure thing sweetie." "Yes!" I felt happiness rushing over me as I shout with excitement. "You are now dismissed. I want you to get to know your new bodyguard so that you can hang out a little." I giggled and walked towards my bodyguard. "Sure mom. See ya later." As I left the throne room, I looked at my bodyguard with a smile on my face.

I became suddenly curious of him. "Why are you wearing a bandana? Do you even see properly?" I tease him as ask. I saw a smile plastered on his as he answer. "It's something that I have to wear." His voice was so familiar but I can't put my finger on it. "I see. Say, what's your name?" As I ask him, he started blushing bright red.
