Chapter 25: Home once more

~Sam's POV~

Our last day in the Howling Woods. I can't wait to go back home and actually play my flute once more. I woke up with a start as I stretched myself on the couch. Yeah, I let Angel actually sleep on the bed. Anyways, I sat up and looked at the sleeping Angel on the bed that made me smile with a blush on my cheeks. I stood up, took a shower and readied myself for the day.

After what seems like 30 mins or so, I finished packing my stuff and sat once more on the couch as I dry my hair off with the towel around my neck. I sigh and heard a cute yawn that made me turn to Angel who was stretching with a tired look. She saw me looking at her and smile. "Good morning, Sam", she said as she got off from bed and went towards the vanity. "Morning, Angel. Did you sleep well?", I asked as I stopped drying my hair and let the towel rest on my head. "Yeah, I slept well. How 'bout you?" "Same, it was quite short but relaxing."

"True." She responded as she brush her luscious blonde short hair. I hang my towel on the couch arm and brush some of my hair back as to keep it away from my face. I suddenly see Angel sitting beside me as she puts her boots on. We suddenly hear a knock on the door that made us answer it in unison. We chuckled at the moment we made and saw Alex's head pop out of the doorway. "Morning you two. I was wondering if you guys are actually ready to go home." We both answer with a nod and a thumbs up as he leaves the doorway with an 'okay' and closed the door with a click.

We looked at each other and chuckled at what happened and finished our business. We all headed out to the stables after we ate our breakfast. "Hey there, Harry. How's my favorite horse doing?" I mutter as I pet the snout of the horse and it whined in glee to see me. I chuckled and smiled and suddenly heard a door open that made me turn to see Angel leading her horse out of the stables. We looked at each other and smiled, that made me pull Harry out of his stable as we both headed out of the stables with our horses together.

We said our goodbyes to the other werewolves and went our way back on the messenger route that leads us right outside of the borders of the Howling Woods. I felt relief when I realized that we didn't pass through the ambush area that made me smile. We all ended up going back on our track from before as we race through the meadows between the two kingdoms. After what felt like 4 hours, we made a stop to rest and eat just like before until we start to continue once more on our journey back.

~Mal's POV~

After what seems like forever (too much?), we all made it back safe and sound. Our horses entered the cobblestone pathway making tapping sounds from there metal shoes. We all feel relief as we kept on going deeper in the kingdom. As we all made our way in the castle walls, we led our horses back in their old stables as we led ourselves back in the castle.

The sun turn itself into dusk as we all made our way to our own places once more. We were greeted by a joyful and hyper Cass, Kathy and Karlos at door, giving us big hugs from our trip.

"You guys came back safe and sound." Cass exclaimed, hugging me even tighter as if I was about to leave again.

"And in time too." Karlos added as he swoon his arms over Sam's and Alex's shoulders with a grin on his face. We all felt relief rushing in us as we all catch up with others and end our day with smiles and cheers in the air.

~ Meanwhile in the Guardian's quarters ~

~Margaret's POV~

The doors open magically as we all enter a room filled with chairs around a big round table made with mahogany wood. We all sat down on each chair leaving two empty chairs on one side. "Will they come?" Arox asked as his question whispered in my ears.

"Of course they'll come. Just be patient Arox." I whispered back as I pat him on the shoulder earning a nod from him. We all waited for good 30 mins with small talks and snack.

We all heard the doors open and saw Hera and Terro entering making us bow down with respect.

"Rise Kings and Queens of the Realm. We are thankful that you all accept our invite in meeting once more." Hera said with a smile as her aura shined with power.

"It is indeed a pleasure to meet you once more Hera and Terro." Erica answered with a bow as she redraw once more and smiled. "We are all thankful and honored your Highness. We are ready to serve once more." Syre remarked as he stepped forward beside Erica and I. The others did the same that made Hera and Terro smile.

"Alright, now that we all have our fun let's start with the main reason why we're all here." Hera started as we all sat back in our chairs and listen attentively to her as they also sat down with us.

"We all now know that me and Terro chose your sons and daughters to be the next Guardians of the realm. Now they are about to face their first mission and test." Hera said as she at all of us in the room and continue.

"We have brought news that all of you might get scared about it. We have heard about a news from the human realm. It might be about the forbidden power that is once more leaking out and what's worse is---" Hera stopped and breathe out as if the next words is traumatic to hear. So Terro took over and continued the talk. "The forbidden power is once more leaking out of the human realm and we fear that it might spread resulting of the past incident few years ago. However, Togaro on the other hand is still in his cage in the Forgotten Isle on the Kingdom of the Seven seas so there is nothing to fear of but one thing for sure is that he might be related to the forbidden power leaking." He said with a frown on his face that made all worried and shocked.

"That means, your children will now have their mission and that mission is to stop the forbidden power leaking before Togaro finds his way to get out of his cell and reach to that kind of power." Hera remarked with courage. We all felt traumatic and decided to accept the challenge for our children. Hera and Terro nodded and ended the meeting. They all lead us to our rooms and we all call it day.

I hope Mal will be alright with this.
