Lucas continued to stare at Her unaware that Mr. Matthews was walking past His desk.

"I've Never seen your paper this Empty before come on Lucas do your work. It's Not Like you to Get distracted!"

The bell rang to signal the end Of the day and Lucas sighed as He walked out Of His class. As He passed by the hallway He saw Riley Maya and Zay talking to Each other. However, Riley was keeping Her attention on Zay for Most Of their conversation

"We were wondering If you'd Like to come with us to the Library to Help pick out some books for us to study for our tests coming up you're Like the Expert after all. Our Teachers told us to Go old school this time". Zay Grinned

"Yeah OK whatever". Snapped Lucas.

Riley frowned

"Is there something wrong Lucas? You don't Have to come with Us If you don't want to". She Remarked.

His anger boiled down when Riley spoke to Him. He stared Into their Eyes, It was obvious They were wondering what was wrong with Him.

They spent about thirty Minutes In the Library. Searching for books. Throughout that time. He'd try His best to stay close to Riley.

"Hey, Lucas!" Maya Hissed from across the room. Lucas turned His Gaze towards Her." Come Help Me pick out some books!"

"That's one thing I'd Never Imagine you'd say. Are you Even Going to read them?"

Maya chuckled and slapped Him on the shoulder playfully

"Of course Not But I Might as well Look Like I'm doing something before that Librarian shouts at Me to Get out".

Lucas skimmed the bookshelves picking out the thinnest but Most relevent ones for Her

"OK that's Enough Lucas three thin books Is Good for Me!" She spoke Making Her way to the counter.

He couldn't take It any Longer

Lucas ans Riley turned their attention to Him.

"We're Leaving Now Hurry up."

Riley and Zay shot confused Glances at Each otger before all Of them Lined up to check out their books at the register

As they were about to Leave the Library Licas kept several paces behind them with Riley following Him

Suddenly Riley Grabbed His arm and spun Him around, putting Him back Into the room. She Led Him Into the Quiet corner where She and Zay were chatting In earlier and Grabbed Lucas shoulders.

"What's wrong with you Today? You've been acting so strangely."

She scolded

Lucas could feel His face Heating up from the contact with Riley. Their bodies were More Inches from Each other He shook His head

"Nothing wrong. I'm fine Riley."

"No stop Lying Lucas I know something's wrong you've been In a bad Mood all day. Please tell Me what's wrong! You're always there for Me when I Need Help so why can't you accept My Help?"

She pleaded Inching even closer Now

Lucas could feel Her breaths on His face. Instinctively, His Eyes drifted down to Her Lips.

Riley saw this and pulled back Quickly breaking all contact.

She Looked Into His Eyes but Lucas Had Lingered them away so He was Looking anywhere else but Her
