5 years after season 3

Maya is a sophomore in college and Josh graduated 2 years ago and owns a coffee shop in NYC.

The bell above the door chimed as Maya Hunter breezed into coffee cram, a locally owned coffee shop near Cooper union, where Maya was attending.

"You have to check it out, Maya."

Her roommate, Erin had told her, yesterday.

"Not only do they have the best coffee, the guy who owns it is the hottest"/

Erin best friend, phoebe had chimed in.

Maya had rolled her eyes, putting off the idea, but when she saw it across the street a few minutes ago. She decided to give it a try.

Maya surveyed the room, taking in the wood paneled walls and geo-pendant lights hanging from the ceiling that have it an over all hipster vibe. There were a handful of people sitting at the small tables.

She walked up to the counter, her sketchbook tucked under her arm. The barista was a semi-attractive blonde boy with a few piercings.

" I'll have a cafe Mocha and blueberry scone".

"Name?"

"Maya."

The barista recorder her order and rang her up. Maya found a table in the corner and started with every stroke of her pencil.

A coffee cup was set in front of her, startling her out of art-induced haze.

"Well if it isn't Maya Hunter."

A voice drawled. Maya heart skipped a beat and her head snapped up to the familiar chocolate eyes.

"Josh Matthews. Fancy seeing you here."

Her voice came out steadier than she thought it would.

He sat down in the seat across from her.

"Been a while."

" sure has".

She responded.

His eyes searched her a smile on his face.

"Not you're still gorgeous."

Maya laughed, remembering that first Christmas that they spent together.

"Matthews, you flatter me."

" just stating facts, ma'am. "

"You work here?"

She asked, taking note of Josh name tag.

"Work here? I own this place."

" Oh".

Was all Maya said, thinking back to Pheobe's comment.

"You still going to Cooper?"

" Um, yeah. Yeah I am.

"You seeing anyone?"

Maya chuckled.

"Subtle."

" I know. "

Josh smiled at her.

"But are you?"

" I'm a single pringle. You? "

"I'm single, but you see, there's this girl that I really like and I've liked for a long time. The only problem is that I haven't seen her in years and I have no clue if she still likes me."

Maya raised an eyebrow.

"And what is this girl named?"

" I think you know. Well, there's a name you don't hear everyday. "

Josh laughed Quietly, but sobered up and looked back at her.

"Maya, you know what i mean."

She stayed Quiet, a million thoughts racing through her head. She knew that she had never stopped loving this boy, proven by her lack of a dating life, despite receiving many invitations. It was hard for her to think that he had waited for her after all this time.

"Do you remember what we said at the ski lodge?"

He asked.

"We said Lots of stuff, Matthews."

Maya said, purposely avoiding what she knew he meant.

"Fireplace. What was our promise?"

" Someday".

She answered, Quietly.

"Someday".

He repeated.

" that was five years ago. Can that someday be today? "

A easy smile graced Maya face.

"I guess it's your lucky day, boing."

A grin split his features and he jumped up.

"Tonight, seven pm, Paris cafe."

The smile never strayed  from her face.

"Alright, see you at seven.

In impulse, Josh leaned down and kisses her cheek.

" see you".

He whispered before heading back to the counter.

"By the way, I still want my blueberry scone!"

Maya called after him.
