Chapter 4: Location Changes, Shit
It’s 9:30pm now and I’m sprinting across a roof in my suit and mask, diamond secure in my bag. Jumping onto another roof, I stop and look down at a street sign. S. Emerson St. I walk into the building and head to room 117. I knock on the door and wait for someone to open it. Growing impatient, I simply kick the door open and stroll in.
“Decker! You here pal! Don’t have all night!” I shout as I walk around. No one’s here. Getting on edge, I walk around the apartment in search of anything that would help me locate Decker. I walk to the kitchen and on the table lies a single piece of paper.
Viper,
I know this is last minute, but I need
to change our delivery location. Please meet
me on the roof of the building two blocks over.

Simon Decker
Well that’s weird. Whatever, as long as I get paid. I look out the window and find my new location.

Landing on the roof of the new location, I stand and scan the area. I notice a figure in the shadows.
“Decker?” I ask the figure.
“Viper, glad you got my message.” He says walking forward. Simon decker comes towards me, but the closer he gets, I notice his appearance. He has a black eye forming and a gash up his left arm. Backing up, I ask,
“What’s going on?”
“I’m afraid I don’t know what you are talking about.” He replies with a hint of a German accent. Dudes German?
“Oh okay. Well where’s your guards? You had about 4 when we last talked.”
“I thought it would be best to meet alone. You can only trust one person in life, yourself.” He says. Okay now I know something’s up. He wouldn’t suddenly change the meet up location, would definitely not come alone, and why the hell is he so injured?
“You know, I don’t think I’m interested in this deal anymore.” I say turning around.
“You can’t leave.” Decker says in a low voice.
“Oh yeah? Are you gonna stop me from jumping off this roof?” I ask him in a sarcastic tone.
“He might not, but I will.” A new voice says. I turn and find Decker on his knees with a red, white, and blue costumed man standing above him.
“I’d like to see you try, Captain.” I say.
“My pleasure.” He says while grabbing his shield. Chucking the bloody thing at my face, I jump and do a flip over it so it goes into the building behind me.
