Stan
They all raced into a classroom as the lights continued to flicker, adrenaline surging throughout Stan's body. The sound of gunshots and growling echoed behind them as he slammed the door shut. Dustin laid Eleven down on the nearest desk and Mike gently held her hand.
"Hold on a little longer, okay?" He sniffed. "He's gone. The Bad Man's gone. You'll be home soon."
Eleven nodded and let out a little grunt in response before being overshadowed by Richie's screams in pain. Stan looked over to see Richie beginning to shapeshift again. His shoulders dislocating themselves and his clothes ripping. Oh shit! Stan thought. What the fuck are we going to do with a raging werewolf?
Eleven began to sit up, "Richie."
Mike gently pushed her back down, "Richie's okay, he's just shapeshifting again."
"S-S-Stan!" Bill yelled out, "C-C-Come help u-us with Richie!"
He ran over to where the others lay beside Richie. "How does this keep on happening?" He asked, confusion loud in his tone.
"I-I-It must be something to do with the adrenaline," Bill suggested. "And also the fact that he hasn't properly sh-shapeshifted into this form yet."
"Well, what the fuck are we gonna do?" Eddie chimed in.
Bill glanced over at his twin and the two nodded at each other. Whatever they were going to do, Stan hoped it worked.
"I-I-I'm s-s-sorry Richie, but this is for your own g-g-good," Bill apologised, his eyes becoming swarmed in black once again.
The boy didn't respond as fur began to grow from his skin. The hands of the dead seized Richie's ankles and wrists as tree trunks swirled themselves around his arms and legs. Richie began to snarl and growl at them in reply now, almost a wolf with his yellow eyes flaring.
Kill... A voice similar to Richie's rang in Stan's head. Kill!
Before Stan had any time to think, the sounds of gunshots ceased. The only sounds Stan could hear now were his own breath and Richie growling beside him.
"Is it dead?" Dustin asked, his voice ringing out through the silence.
His question was answered within the next second, when the Demogorgon knocked the door to the classroom down. A series of yelling and screaming sounded as Mike and Dustin ordered Lucas to get something out of his backpack. A slingshot appeared out of the backpack as Lucas aimed it at the Demogorgon.
"Eddie! Hold him still for me!" Lucas ordered.
Stan saw Eddie fling out his hand and squish his face together, determined on keeping the Demogorgon still. The Demogorgon stopped mid-walk, roaring and snarling at him. A rock flew towards the Demogorgon's head, bouncing off and falling to the ground.
It turned its attention to Lucas, Dustin and Mike, slowly stalking towards them. Stan looked around for something he could use, anything. There were rows of glass beacons above him. He grabbed one and shattered it on the desk, creating a small cylinder shape filled with jagged edges at the end.
He charged at the Demogorgon and plunged the weapon into its back. An inhumane cry sounded through at the room and the sensation of flying overwhelmed him. It ended with a sharp sensation, rippling throughout his back and the blurry noises of his friends screaming his name.
His vision cleared within moments, although his head ached. He looked up to see as Lucas firing more rocks at the Demogorgon, but that wasn't what his mind focused on.
Richie had broken free and was on its back. His friend was biting and slashing viciously at the monster, black blood raining down its back.
The final rock sent the Demogorgon flying into the chalkboard as Richie flew off it and was settled gently onto the ground. Eleven appeared and began to slowly walk toward the monster, with Mike attempting to stop her, which resulted in him being flown to the other end of the classroom.
Oh God, please don't tell me, Stan thought, his pulse matching his rapid thoughts. Don't tell me she's going to sacrifice herself!
The Demogorgon squirmed and struggled to break free, with no triumph. Once Eleven had reached it, she turned to face the rest of the group. Her eyes gazing at them before finally resting on Mike.
"Goodbye Mike," Were the final words that came out of her mouth, filled with sorrow.
The Demogorgon let out a piercing cry that made Stan and the others cover their ears and eyes. When Stan looked up, Eleven and the Demogorgon were gone, leaving behind a black ashy substance in their wake. Mike began to run towards where Eleven had disappeared.
"El?" Mike called out, his voice nearly on the edge of breaking. "Eleven?"
Stan saw Richie try to fling himself at Mike out of the corner of his eye, but not before being stopped by Eddie telepathically. Stan did the only thing he knew to do next, he walked up to Mike and wrapped him in a hug. Mike fought against him.
"Mike, you need to calm down," Stan attempted to soothe his friend but was nearly on the edge of crying himself. "She's gone."
"She's not gone!" Mike wept, fighting against his grip. "She can't be gone!"
Stan uncontrollably let a few tears of his own fall down his cheeks, "Mike, please, you need to calm down."
Mike cried into Stan's shirt, causing it to become wet and sticky with tears. "She's not gone."
Stan felt a hand lightly tap on his shoulder. He turned around to see Dustin looking at him with tearful eyes.
"Give him to me, we'll take care of him. You guys need to find someplace to hide before somebody sees you," Dustin instructed.
"Where do we go, though?"
"Go back and hide in my basement. And if you hear somebody coming, run."
Stan nodded and let go of Mike. He walked over to wear Richie lay in his wolf form, unconscious.
"What happened?" Stan asked, bewildered.
"I accidentally knocked him into the cupboard," Eddie admitted.
Stan nodded and tried to pick up Richie. Bill gave him a hand as Eddie and Cassie opened up a window. Together, the five of them escaped into the night air, away from the sirens and flashing lights.
