The Scared Broken Boy [COMPLETE]

Chapter 8

        Jake looked up at the big guy in fear. Tears started going down his face and he can tell his mind is about to switch from his fear, but he tried to keep control of it. Apollo barked at the guy and growled. Everybody else finally found them and immediately froze. Before any of them could do anything, Apollo launched at the guy and tackled him. Everybody gasped and screamed. The guy let out a scream when Apollo bit his wrist. The guy threw Apollo off of him and Apollo slammed into the shed wall. Apollo let out a yelp and started whining. "NO!" Jake yelled and his mind immediately changed. The guy stood up and grabbed Jake who immediately started squirming in his hands while screaming and crying. Everybody immediately ran over. Erika, Tessa, and SlayGawd grabbed Jake and yanked him out of the guys hands. Logan pushed the guy back hard and everybody else kept yelling at him and pushing him away. He ended up running away, scared and to fix his bit wrist. Jake got out of Erika's grip and ran over to Apollo who is laying on the ground injured and breathing heavily. He sat next to Apollo and hugged him, crying. Anthony sat next to Jake and checked Apollo. "His front left paw is broken and he has some bad cuts," Anthony said. "We gotta get him to help!" Erika said, tears going down her face. Logan tried to pull Jake away from Apollo so Anthony can pick Apollo up, but Jake didn't want to leave him. "NO!" Jake yelled and try to get out of Logan's grip, but failed. Logan picked up Jake and Anthony picked Apollo up. Jake cried into Logan's shoulder as they all started to walk back, really worried. "We're going to get Apollo some help," Logan whispered into Jake's ear. Jake's mind changed back to normal, but he kept crying. "I hope Apollo is okay," Ari said. "Same," Spencer said. "Apollo is a strong dog," Shannon said. "I'm sure he'll be okay," Cortney said. Jake stopped crying by the time they reached the house. Anthony and Chad took Apollo to the animal hospital in Chad's car. Everybody went inside the house, really worried about Apollo. Jake ended up falling asleep on Logan's shoulder and has his thumb in his mouth, a 3 year old force of habit for him now. "Awww," Erika said softly and then took a photo of it on her phone. She sent that to Logan's and Jake's phones and then walked away with Tessa. Everybody went to do their own things around the house, worried about Jake and Apollo. Logan headed upstairs to Jake's room with a sleeping Jake in his arms. He opened Jake's room door and then closed the door with his foot. He walked over to Jake's bed and gently laid Jake down. He tucked Jake in and went to pull his hands away and leave, but something grabbed his fingers. Logan saw Jake's hands tugging at his right hand in his sleep. Logan made Jake let go and then laid down in bed next to him. Jake curled into Logan's side and Logan held him close, smiling a little. "I love you," Logan whispered softly and gently kissed Jake's head, "I won't let anyone hurt you." Jake smiled a little in his sleep and tucked his head into Logan's side.

        Logan woke up an hour later and saw that Jake is gone. He started to panic, but then calmed down when he saw Jake come out of the bathroom with Erika. "Sorry if we woke you up," Erika said, "Jake woke up and found me and said he had to go to the bathroom." Jake's face went red a little and Logan and Erika laughed a little. "Spencer is still here and said you two haven't finished your vlog yet," Erika said. Logan let out a sigh, forgetting all about that. He got out of bed and they all left the room. "What time is it?" Logan asked Erika. "12:30 PM," Erika said, "You two been pretty much sleeping all morning." "I know and I hate it," Jake said as he carefully walked downstairs with them. Erika held his little hand, helping him keep his balance. "I've been so tired lately," Jake said as they reached the bottom of the stairs. "You are 3 now and you're probably stressed out from everything going on," Logan said. "True," Jake said. "I'm gonna go find Spencer and Mike and continue the vlog," Logan said. "Okay, I'll watch Jake," Erika said. "I don't need a babysitter," Jake said as Logan walked away, "There's security cameras and tons of people around the house." "I know, but we're worried about everybody with that creep out there," Erika said, "You can go walk around and do your own thing. Just please don't go outside alone. Make sure people are out there first." "Okay," Jake said with a smile, "How is Apollo?" "He has to get surgery," Erika said, "He is okay though and will for sure live." Jake's smile grew and Erika smiled at him. "Lunch will be ready soon," she said, "You can always go to someone if you need anything. Please stay with someone or at least nearby some people." "Okay," Jake said. Jake went into the living room where Shannon, Cortney, and Ari are watching TV. "Hey Jake," Shannon said and Jake gave her a high-five. "You feeling better?" Cortney asked him. "Yeah," Jake said and pet Thor who is laying on some white bean bags that are sitting off to the side. He sat down in them and Thor licked his face which caused him to giggle a little. "Should I record some and take pictures, like I'm secretly doing it?" Ari suggested, "So it's raw footage and seems more believable." "Yeah," Jake said. Ari grabbed the camera and started recording Jake and Thor playing. He then took photos of them and then walked away to the kitchen to see when lunch will be readym Jake hugged Thor while laying in the bean bags. Thor looks really happy right now and it made Shannon and Cortney say, "Awww!" Jake blushed and sat up. They all laughed and Jake got out of the bean bags. He walked into the kitchen where Tessa, Erika, and Ari are hanging out. "Dinner is ready!!!" Erika yelled which caused everybody to run over.
