Chapter 23

        Jake woke up with a familiar, soft, black blanket over his small body. He yawned as he sat up and looked around to see he is in his room. He looked down and realized he's in red pajamas now too. He has a red long sleeve shirt on, black and red pajama pants, and then red socks. He then looked over at his alarm clock that reads 9 AM. Logan or mom must've brought me up here and changed me, Jake thought to himself as he crawled to the end of the bed. He carefully got down and then walked over to his room door. He tried opening the door, but had trouble reaching the door handle. He went on his tippy toes and finally was able to bend the handle. He got the door to open a little and then walked out of his room. His little feet softly tapped on the floor as he walked down the long hallway to the stairs. He slid his feet across the floor a little too since he has socks on. "Jake!" Chad said with a smile as he walked out of his room. "Hey, Chad," Jake said with a tired smile, still waking up a little, "Can you carry me downstairs?" "Sure, bud!" Chad said and picked Jake up. "Thanks," Jake said and yawned as Chad carried him downstairs, "So, do you have a busy schedule today?" "Yeah, I have to vlog and I' taking Sarah out for breakfast since she gets back from her family trip today," Chad said, "I miss her so much!" "You two are such goals," Jake said and they both laughed. Chad set Jake down once he reached the bottom of the stairs. "Thanks, Chad!" Jake said. "No problem," he said as he walked over to the front door, "I'll see you later and we can try skateboarding again if you want." "Sure!" Jake said with a smile, "Bye, have fun on your date!" Chad laughed and then said thanks again as he left the house. Jake walked over to the kitchen and saw Erika, Tessa, and SlayGawd making breakfast for everyone. "SlayGawd!" Jake said with a smile, "I haven't seen you in a while!" "I know!" He said and then picked Jake up, "I got so busy! I'm sorry!" "It's okay," Jake said, "We all still have businesses to do around here even though I'm shrunken down. We have meetings, vlogs, emails, and other business stuff to do." "We gotta get paid still for those bills too," Tessa said as she puts sausage in the microwave to warm up. "I gotta check on the bacon!" SlayGawd said and set Jake down on a stool at the island. He rushed over to stove where Erika is cooking eggs and flipped the bacon in another pan next to her pan. "Speaking of emails, Jake," Erika said, "Arie and I have been trying to keep up with your business emails for you so you could focus on your health and the shrinking situation right now, but it's getting hard because of our meetings and editing and vlogs and other business stuff." "Oh no!" Jake said, "I completely forgot about that! I've been focusing on making little vlogs to post and my mind changing and just this whole situation, I forgot about the rest of the business stuff I have! Thank you, though. I'll take care of most of them today." "Are you sure?" Erika asked as she moved the now cooked scrambled eggs into a big bowl since there's so many for everyone to share, "We can try to through out the day or also someone else can. Maybe Anthony can." "Maybe I can what?" Anthony asked as he walked into the kitchen, overhearing some of the conversation. "Go through some of Jake's business emails," Erika said, "Tessa can help." "I actually have dance class and then a photo shoot for a magazine today," Tessa said, "Then a meeting and I also have to vlog through out the day." "Wow, Tessa," Jake said with a smile, proud of the girl who is like a little sister to him, "You're going on magazines now!" "Yep!" She said with a big smile. "I can't either," Anthony said, "Busy today too." "It's fine," Jake said and climbed up on the counter top of the island to sit there as he eats, "I can do it myself still. I'll just sit in my room later and use my phone to slowly answer the emails. Who has my phone?" "Arie," Erika said. "Okay, thanks," Jake said. "Alright, breakfast is done," SlayGawd said as him and Tessa set the plate of bacon and sausage on the counter top of the island. "Everybody should either be awake or still getting up by now," Tessa said as she walks out of the kitchen, "I'll go get everybody." "I'll help," Anthony said and followed her. Erika made Jake a small bowl of scrambled eggs and cut up pieces of two sausage links. "Thank you," Jake said and picked up the little fork to start eating. "You're welcome," she said with a smile and then started making herself a plate of food. "It smells delicious in here!" Pam said with a smile as she walked into the kitchen, "Good morning!" "Good morning!" Erika, SlayGawd, and Jake said back. Pam gently kissed Jake's head as she passed by him and he smiled. She started making herself a plate of food and started talking to SlayGawd as they both ate. Arie walked into the kitchen and had Jake's phone in his hand. He placed it next to Jake and Jake thanked him. Jake turned his phone on and started looking through his business emails as he ate. It was a little harder to use the phone since he is way smaller now, but he was managing it. Everybody else slowly made their way in to the kitchen and soon everyone was eating breakfast in the kitchen while chatting with each other. Some are still slowly waking up as they ate and not talking much. "Hey Jake," Mike said and looked at what Jake's doing on the phone, "What are you doing?" "Looking through my emails," Jake said after gulping down some food. He took another bite of his eggs and continued working. "Oh, cool," Mike said, "Want to go out for some icecream later with Logan, Spencer, and I?" Jake sat there and thought about it for a minute. He was going to say no since he wants to get through all or at least most of his emails today so he doesn't have to worry about it. But then he thought it would be fun and help them all get their mind off of work and this shrinking situation. He could also keep looking through his emails during the car ride and at the icecream place. "Okay!" Jake said with a smile, "That sounds fun!" "Alright," Mike said, "We're going to vlog a Q&A this morning first and then Logan has a call with some of his team about new merch coming out soon. We'll leave after that." "Okay!" Jake said and continued looking through his emails.

        It's after breakfast now and Jake is sitting on the couch with his mom. He is still looking through his emails and he let out a soft sigh when he saw there is so much to go through. He then looked over to his mom who is reading a book and asked, "Are you coming with us later to get icecream?" She looked up from her book and over at her youngest son. "No, I'm sorry," she said, "I'm going to be helping Erika with a small grocery shopping trip after she her photoshoot with SlayGawd." "Oh, okay," Jake said, "It'll be a boys trip then." "Yep!" Pam said with a smile, "Maybe I can treat everyone to an icecream trip sometime. We all deserve family, relaxing time like the movie night last night." "Yeah, that sounds fun," Jake said with a smile. Pam smiled, but then heard footsteps coming down the stairs, causing them both to look over. "Pam, want to be in some photos with us?" Erika asked as her, SlayGawd, and Shannon walked to the front door. "Sure!" Pam said with and shut her book. She set it down on the coffee table and then walked over to them. "Have fun and stay safe!" Pam said to Jake, "Maybe you and I can make some lunch together later if you want. Keep our mind off of the situation a little." "Okay," Jake said with a smile, looking forward to hanging out with his mom later, "That sounds nice."  They walked outside and shut the door behind them. Jake is now alone in the living room and he looked down at his phone, continuing to look through emails. He started to feel that feeling again though. The feeling where it feels like someone is watching him. It feels like someone's eyes are digging through his skin, straight to his soul. It feels way creepier and disturbing when he is alone. He looked up from his phone and started looking around, but he doesn't see anyone. He doesn't like being alone right now, especially since he is shrunk down and that creep is still out there. He also remembers Erika telling him to try to stay by at least one person. He got up from the couch and quickly left the living room, holding his phone tightly in his little hands. He remembers seeing Logan, Spencer, and Mike go out to the back yard to record the Q&A. Jake quickly walked through the kitchen to the back door. He saw Logan sitting at one of the tables on the back porch and Spencer and Mike are sitting behind the camera, filming Logan and reading off questions from fans. Jake softly kicked the door, getting their attentions. Mike walked over and opened the door for Jake. Jake followed Mike over to the set up and sat on the ground behind the camera, watching Logan answer questions from fans. Logan could tell as Jake walked over that he seems kind of nervous and like something is bothering him for sure. He told himself then that he will talk to Jake after the video is done.
