The Scared Broken Boy [COMPLETE]

Chapter 6

Jake, Tydus, and RyRy are running around the playground now, playing tag. Tydus tagged Jake and then ran away, him and RyRy laughing a lot. "Get back here!" Jake yelled while he runs after Tydus, both of them laughing a lot. Erika and Cor are sitting on a bench under a tree right by the playground and are talking while watching them play. "They look like they're having so much fun," Cor said with a smile, "Even Jake!" "Yeah," Erika said with a smile too, "It's been pretty hard on Jake, but we're helping him as much as we can and trying to make it as fun as we can." "Yeah," Cor said, "He doesn't seem as scared as I thought he would be." "He gets his moments," Erika said, "I think he's more distracted right now." "Probably," Cor said. "You're it!" Jake said to Tydus as he runs away with RyRy. Tydus ran after them and they're all laughing. As they were running around, Tydus ended up tripping and he hit his head on the plastic board around the playground. He started crying and Jake and RyRy ran over to him. Erika and Cor ran over to them too. Cor picked up Tydus and checked his head. It's red and already getting bruised on the right side, but there's no blood. "Erika, can you come with me to get an ice pack?" Cor asked as she comforted Tydus. "Yeah!" Erika said, "We'll get someone else to watch them." "Jake and RyRy, stay right there until someone else comes over," Cor said as they walk away. "Okay," Jake said. "Okay Mommy!" RyRy said as she sits down in the sand and starts making a sand pile. Cor and Erika quickly walk away with a crying Tydus. Jake sat down next to RyRy in the sand and watch her play. "Is TyTy gonna be okay?" RyRy asked Jake, using Tydus' nickname for her. "Yeah," Jake said with a smile, "He's a strong boy." "Yeah, he is," RyRy said, "He a good brother." "You two must be pretty close," Jake said, seeing how worried RyRy is about Tydus and how much they hangout. "Yeah," RyRy said and continued to play in the sand. Jake smiled at that and thought how cute it is. "Well, stay that close," Jake said, "Because no one will be as close to you as much as a sibling is. No matter how bad of an argument you get in." Jake brought his legs up to his chest and he watched RyRy play in the sand. "Okay," RyRy said with a smile and then smashed her dirt pile she made and giggled. Jake chuckled a little at how much she enjoyed that and thought it was adorable. It also made him laugh a little too for some reason. "Hey guys," someone said which made RyRy and Jake look up to see Logan and Trav walk up. "Hi Daddy!" RyRy said with a huge smile on her face and waved at Trav. "Hey," Jake said to them and stood up, wiping the sand off of him. "Is TyTy okay?" RyRy asked. "Yeah," Trav said as they sat down on a bench that's right in front of them, "He just has a little bump on his head and it's bruising pretty bad." "Well, I'm gonna go down the slide!" RyRy said and ran over to the play set. Jake chuckled a little at how active and hyper she is. "I can barely keep up with them," Jake said and walked over to the bench. He tried sitting on the bench, but it's a little to big for him, so he's having trouble climbing up it. Logan picked him up and set him on his lap. "Thank you," Jake said and laid his back against Logan's chest. "Are you okay?" Logan asked him. "Yeah, just tired from all of the running they've been making me do," Jake said with a yawn. Trav and Logan laughed at that and Jake ended up laughing too. "Daddy, swing!" RyRy said and ran over to them while pointing at the swing. "Okay," Trav said and stood up. He picked RyRy up and carried her over to the swings. Jake and Logan watched as Trav put RyRy in the baby swing and started pushing her in it. RyRy laughed as Trav pushed her on the swings, making her go back and forth pretty high. "Are you sure you're just tired?" Logan asked Jake, having a feeling something else is wrong. Jake let out a sigh and turned around in Logan's lap. "I can't help but worry about all of this," Jake said as he looked down, "I'm trying to not think about it and have fun, but it's hard!" Jake's eyes started getting watery. "What if I never change back?" Jake asked, "What if that creepy guy comes back and tries to kidnap me again? What if someone else gets hurt?" Logan made Jake look up at him and wiped some tears off Jake's face. "It'll be okay," Logan said softly, "I'll make sure we fix this and keep everyone safe." Jake felt better and protected at what Logan said. Logan gently kissed Jake's head and Jake smiled a little which made Logan smile a little. Jake hugged Logan and buried his face into Logan's chest. "Thank you," Jake mumbled into Logan, "I love you." Logan wrapped his arms around Jake. "I love you too," Logan said. Jake ended up accidentally falling asleep in Logan's arms.
