Logan and Jake reached the carnival and Jake got excited again. He really wants to try not to let his mind change to complete 3 year old, but he has a feeling it will sometime today again. Hopefully I don't do anything bad this time and get in trouble, Jake thought to himself as Logan parked the car, Maybe my mind won't change though and I can enjoy the carnival as myself. Logan opened Jake's door and helped him unbuckle. He picked his little brother up and closed the door. "What do you want to do first?" Logan asked him as he carried Jake to the front gates of the Carnival. "I don't know," Jake said, "There is so much here to do and I can't do all of the big rides this time because I'm too short." "Well, let's get the tickets and wristbands first," Logan said. They reached the booth and bought the wristbands and ticket entry. They walked in and Jake looked around in amazement, everything seeming bigger and way more amazing than stuff usually do. Logan laughed and put his wristband on and then put Jake's wristband on Jake's little wrist. Logan's arms started to get sore, so, he put Jake on his shoulders and held his little hands. "Let's check out the games first!" Jake said in excitement. "Alright," Logan said and walked towards the games. Jake can feel that his mind wants to change a little, but he tried ignoring it and fighting it off. Surpisingly, it seemed to work then. As Logan was walking towards the games, Jake couldn't help but think about his parents again. Nobody has said anything about them yet and neither of them have showed up. He let out a soft sigh out loud on accident. Logan heard and can kind of like sense a mood change. "You okay?" Logan asked. "Huh?" Jake said, confused since he was deep in thought, "Uh, yeah." "Hm," Logan hummed, not believing him. Jake can tell he doesn't but ignored it. "How about we go on some rides since it will probably get way busier later tonight and we won't have to carry prizes around all day," Logan said. "Okay," Jake said and looked at the rides, "Uh..." His eyes landed on a fun house that doesn't have many people and pointed at it. "It's not a ride, but those are fun!" Jake said with a smile. "Okay," Logan said while chuckling softly at how excited Jake has been getting easily since he changed. Also scared and sad more easily too and pain is like 10x worst.  Logan took Jake off his shoulders and set him down on the ground. The worker scanned their wristbands and Logan held Jake's hand. Jake lead the way into the mirror maze which is the first thing to get through. "These give me headaches sometimes," Logan said as they carefully made their way through. They reached some stairs and they made their way up, Logan helping Jake. When they reaches the top, there were funny mirrors they can look in which makes them look silly. Jake giggled as he looks in one which makes him look tall. Logan stood behind him and laughed a little too. He looked down at Jake and smiled at how happy he is and adorable he looks. Jake looked up at Logan and smiled that big, adorable smile showing his little baby teeth. "Let's go down the slide and then find a ride!" Jake said and stuck his small little arms up at Logan. Logan smiled even more and picked Jake up. "You're excited and extremely happy today," Logan said as he walked over to the red swirly slide, "Did your mind change and I just didn't notice?" Jake giggled a little and shook his head. "No, but it probably will soon," Jake said. They went down the slide together and then started to walk around, looking at the rides. Logan started to remember some memories of him at the fair in Ohio when he was younger with Jake and their mom. Some memories when he was 5 and a little younger (which are blurry kind of) and other memories when he was a little older. His thoughts got interrupted by Jake spotting the teacups. "Let's go on that!" Jake said with a big smile. Logan smiled and walked towards it.

It's 3 PM now and Jake and Logan have been at the fair for about like an hour and a half. They went on a couple small rides and in some other fun houses. Jake mind did change once in a fun house and he was like running all around in it and Logan almost lost him. His mind just changed back a couple minutes ago and they're sitting on a picnic table, taking a break, mostly for Logan and for a snack. They're both eating a pizza slice each and Jake's slice is cut into small pieces so it's easier for him to eat. Jake is sitting on Logan's lap and Logan finished eating his pizza slice. Jake is still eating his since it takes him a little longer to eat now. "I'm sorry for having you running all over the place and for almost running away when my mind changed," Jake said and put a small piece of pizza into his mouth. "It's okay, it's not your fault," Logan said after taking a gulp of his water, "Also, don't worry about me running around. I'm having fun and you are too which is all that matters." He went onto his phone and saw a text from Mike saying everybody will be there at 4:30. He replied with an okay and then put his phone in his pocket. Jake finished his pizza and then drank some water. "Everybody else will be here at 4:30," Logan said as he cleaned Jake's hands and face off, "Can we talk about something serious for a minute?" "Uh, sure," Jake said nervously. "I know you're having a lot of fun and is really happy, but I know something is bothering you too," Logan said, "What's wrong?" Jake didn't answer and looked down at the table. Logan stood up with Jake in his arms and threw out their trash in the garbage can that's nearby. "Where are we going?" Jake asked as Logan looked for a more private area. He saw a building where a bathroom is in and some booths around in it for advertising and some more small games. There are also tables in it for people to rest at and eat. He walked over to the building, not answering Jake. They went around the building to behind it where no one is around. "Okay, what's wrong?" Logan asked Jake and made Jake look at him. "I..." Jake started to say and looked down, "Nothing." "Stop lying to me," Logan said, "You can tell me anything." "I just...I heard nothing about Mom and Dad," Jake said, "Do they even know what happened? If they do, do they just not care?!?" Logan what shocked by what Jake asked and let out a sigh. He had a feeling Jake noticed about their parents and was afraid about this. "They do care and they do know," Logan said, "Mom is like freaking out and trying her best to fly out here as soon as she can, but it's hard with her work. She is gonna try to come tomorrow, even if her work won't let her miss any days. Dad...well..." Logan trailed off, frowning and anger filling him. "What about Dad?" Jake asked and Logan looked down, sighing. "He just left me on seen and won't answer any calls or texts," Logan said softly to where Jake just about heard him. Jake's heart broke a little at those words about his "father" who never really seemed to care about them. His eyes got watery, knowing now for sure his father probably never cared and never will. Logan looked at him and his heart broke at the broken look on Jake's face. "Jakey, I'm sorry," Logan said softly and leaned back against the wall, "I'm really mad at him like you are, but we don't need him. He was rarely here for us anyway and  we shouldn't let him ruin our day." "I-I know," Jake said, his voice cracking a little, "It just still hurts to know he doesn't even care about his sons." Jake laid his head down on Logan's shoulder and wrapped his arms around Logan's neck tightly as he cried. Logan held Jake close and protectively as he comforts Jake. "I love you," Logan whispered softly as Jake cried. "I love you too," Jake cried into Logan's shoulder. They stayed there like that for a few more minutes and Jake then calmed down. Logan made Jake look up at him and wiped the tears off Jake's face. Jake's mind didn't change this time as he cried which is kind of good, but it still didn't stop the pain Jake feels. "How about we go get some cotton candy to share and walk around in the building while we wait for everybody else to show up?" Logan suggests with a small smile. Jake smiled and nodded his head, feeling a little better at the thought of cotton candy. Logan smiled even more and kissed Jake's head and started to walk to find some cotton candy.
