Virginia's eyes followed his every movement as he paced to and fro, making one call after the other...
She bit her lip in frustration, desperately holding in the hot insult lingering at the tip of her tongue.

She began to tap her feet on the floor.

Irritated, Kevin pulled the phone away from his ears and turned to her, glaring at her.

"Will you stop tapping your feet like a maniac? It's distracting me"

She fought the urge to roll her eyes at him.

She still hadn't spoken to him about that whole fiasco that occurred in front of the house ten minutes ago..
How dare he? How dare he say something as serious as marriage without her consent.
Now her face was going to be all over social media. When all she had in mind when she left her country was a quiet life.
It seemed like trouble followed her everywhere.

"We need to talk" she said, ignoring his previous statement.

Totally ignoring her,Kevin went back to his phone call.

Okay that's it!.
Fuming,Virginia shot up from the couch in which she sat and stormed towards him, snatching the phone from him and throwing it onto the couch.

"What the...f*ck was that for?!" He sneered, glaring at her.
She glared back.

"I. Said. We. need. To. Talk" she repeated through gritted teeth.

"I'm busy Virginia. What's your f*cking problem?"
"My problem is that I hate pretentious people like you. Look Kevin,I don't give a damn how you live your life, I don't care what you do to keep up with your celebrity status but I definitely won't take it lightly when I'm being dragged into it unwillingly like what just happened outside! How dare you announce us as engaged to be married to the media? Who gave you that right!" She screamed.
"Do not raise your f*cking voice at me Virginia Reynolds!" He screamed back.

She shut her eyes taking in deep breaths to calm her nerves before opening them again.

"Please take back what you said to the media. I don't want my name associated with yours especially when they're all fabricated lies"

"No"
Was all he said before bending to pick up his cell phone.
Enraged at his nonchalant behaviour, she snatched the phone again.

"What do you mean by no?!"
"Do not yell at me Virginia. Don't forget you're living under my roof!"

"The worst reminder ever. Of course I damn well know. We agreed that I'll pay your rent once I start working so there's no way you can use the lame excuse of me living under your roof as leverage to make me do your bidding Kevin! No way in hell I'm letting that happen!" She flared up.

"You sound like you have a choice. You've got nowhere else to go. You're new in this country and don't know the surroundings"
He sounded arrogant, cocky and disgustingly proud. Traits she totally hated about him.

Yes, she may have no one to run to but that didn't mean she didn't gave a choice. She wasn't that helpless.

"I do have a choice Kevin. And I'm leaving your house this very minute. You won't treat me like some stray dog" she turned to leave when he grabbed her arm, spun her around so fast she tripped and gripped his collar for support.
Their eyes met. Faces dangerously close, their noses almost touching.
Virginia gasped at the sudden closeness. She'd never been this close to any man. Ever.

"You will not leave this house under any circumstances Virginia. All eyes are on us after the announcement and so the minute you step out there with your bags, you're going to be in news all over again, people are going to ask questions and soon they'll realise all this was fake and both our reputations will go down the drain especially mine. And I'm not having that. So you better calm down and act like a fiancée. It's not like I want to marry you anyway, you're not my type. This is just a charade that will and in probably a month or two. Then we can cook up some story that we fell out of live and decided to break up or some shit! By then all these rumors will have died down and you'll be free to leave. So get your wits together" he sneered and then released her.
