Virginia walked out of her room and stopped In front of the next door.
She bit her lip in contemplation, tapping her feet softly on the tiled floor weighing her pros and con's.

To knock? Or not knock?

She repeatedly debated silently.
She had heard Kevin arguing with his friends loudly after they'd had arrived home.

Not wanting to eavesdrop on their conversation, she had trudged into the bathroom to take a shower, letting the hot water soak into her skin but that wasn't enough to shut off their screams.
She'd heard mostly yelling and then bits and pieces of their conversation where they were talking about something along the lines of a girl ditching Kevin in the past.

At first, she didn't want to make a big deal out of what she'd heard because people ditched their lovers day in day out as easily as they changed their clothes.
But then something about the manner in which Kevin had completely evaded his friends questions piqued her interest.
Maybe, just maybe whatever relationship was between Kevin and that girl had run way deeper.

Maybe that's why he'd become the Casanova he was now.
Maybe that's why he'd made it his habit to leave a trail of broken hearts wherever he stepped.
Maybe that's how bad the situation was.

Virginia sighed, chewing her lips.
Kevin hadn't come down for dinner and she was worried.
She was worried of the foul mood he was probably in at the moment.
She'd had her fair share of Kevin's temper but what worried her the most was the fact that he could try to harm himself just like he'd tried to years ago.

Yep, she had heard the part where he'd attempted suicide too.

Virginia sighed again, stepping forward.
Bracing herself, she knocked softly at first. When there was no response, she knocked again much harder.

"What?!" Kevin's unmistakable voice barked from inside.

Virginia flinched slightly.
"Ugh...it's me Virginia. I was... I was wondering if I could borrow your laptop to... Umm..to start with the designs your father..."

She didn't finish her sentence when the door suddenly pulled open startling her.
Kevin stood in front of her, his face void of emotions.
His dark lustrous hair was messy, scattered In all directions with heavy locks falling over his eyes. He was bare chested and was clad in only briefs.

Virginia bit her lips looking away.
"Here" Kevin shoved his laptop into her hand harshly.

"Ugh.. Thanks" she muttered with uncertainty.

Kevin ignored her and stepped back to shut the door when she held out her hand.
"Wait!"

Kevin groaned
"What?"

"Ugh.. I wanted to know if your laptop has a password?"

"This one doesn't. Anything else?" Was his curt reply.
"Ugh.. I might need some internet so.."
Again, she didn't complete her sentence when Kevin backed away, disappearing behind the door and returning later with something that almost looked a pen drive.
She glanced at it.
A modem.

"Here" he thrust the modem into her hand and shut the door in her face.

Virginia hissed.
He was so much more grumpier than a woman on her period.

Turning, she trudged into her room to begin her work.

****
Sighing heavily, Virginia lifted her head to stare at the wall clock groaning immediately at the pain in her neck.

She had been on the laptop for hours now.
She shut the laptop, rubbing the back of stiff her neck as she shot out of bed.
It was almost nine pm.
Had Kevin eaten?
