"hey baby" my boyfriend, tyler, walked up to my locker. a cheeky smile spread across his face as he looked down at me, observing my actions.
"hey ty" i smile, shifting my gaze away from him as i focus on putting my books away and grabbing ones i need so i can leave the school.
tyler and i have been dating for a long time and he is definitely somebody i think i see a future with. i mean, i definitely don't see anybody being able to change my mind.
he places his hand under my chin and lifts my head up to make me look at him, "you look at me when you say hi. i want to see your beautiful face."
i lightly shake my head and lean upwards to peck his lips, "i just want to go home, that's all."
"how come?" he asks, seeming to actually care which is quite rare for him.
you see, him and i have a pretty good relationship. i wouldn't say one hundred percent healthy though. my best friend, sabrina, hates him. my whole friend group does, actually. they all say he's a nice guy, but when he's in a relationship, he has no real care for their life as long as they give him what he wants. if they don't, they're noting to him.
tyler plays hockey, whereas my younger brother does too. they don't play on the same team since my brother is three years younger than us, but i met tyler when i was at the arena watching my brother play one day. i never expected to have such a connection when i was simply fifteen.
"i wanna nap before my parents get home, they apparently have something to talk to me about so i need rest before that" i briefly explain, closing my locker and locking it before tyler and i begin to walk to the front doors.
he grins down at me as he intertwines our fingers, "how about i take you on a date on friday?"
i smile up at him, "that sounds nice."
"just wanna treat my babygirl to a good time" he states, letting our hands go as we are about to part ways. he pulls my face in and places his hands on my waist as he pushes me against the side of my car.
i place my hands on his chest and lightly push him off after he was getting too into it.
he knew what he was doing. he knew he was stalling me because that's what he does, he tries to get what he wants which is exactly why he held a smirk on his face, "text me later, babygirl. i love you."
"i love you too" i respond, turning to get into my car to drive home.

when i arrived home, both of my parents' cars were in the driveway which is extremely surprising. my parents are the parents that say "we will be home at five" and come home at eleven. they're the ones that leave you a note in the morning that says "love you kids, but we're going to be gone for a week for business. here's money for food."
don't get me wrong, my parents do love us but they definitely put their effort into working more than caring for us.
i walked in the front door, being greeted by my mom cooking and my dad sitting on the couch flipping through various news and sports channels.
"hey sweetheart" my dad greets me, "how was school?"
i shrug, "it was okay. why is mom already cooking? it's only four."
he laughs, "that's what she wanted to talk to you about."
my mom suddenly runs out of the kitchen when she heard my dad laugh, "vanessa, darling! we have some new friends coming over for dinner. they have a son your age, so you will have someone to talk to and bond with. they're coming by at six so get ready!"
"alright, im going to swim some laps for a bit, then i guess i'll get ready" i inform my mom, as she nods and kisses my forehead before going back to the kitchen.
i don't know who this family could be, but this isn't how i wanted to spend my evening.
