vanessa thomas

being truthful, i was scared as hell to meet all of the guys that have been in jack's life for such a large portion of their careers. i can't even lie, i was petrified. but here i am, sitting at a table with them.

to my left was jack, to my right was nate, across from me was johnson. on johnson's right and across from jack sat, i believe, cameron. then on the other side of johnson, across from nate, sat sam.

as jack and johnson were in a conversation, nate begins talking to me which then sammy joins in too.

"so are you and jack thinking of moving out to la once you've graduated high school in a couple months?" nate asks me, catching me comepltely off guard as my eyes widened.

sammy chuckles, "you sure shocked her, skate."

i shrug, "you sure did. uh, but i don't know. we haven't talked about it or anything of that sort, honestly. why do you ask?"

did jack hear what was being said?

nate and sammy both nod, but nate is the one to answer me, "well you know, you guys are pretty serious and with him going to be in la for awhile in november, i was wondering if you and him would move out here. or if you would, since him and johnson already have a place."

"you've definitely thought about it more than i have, nate" i laugh, our conversation coming to an end with jack and johnson joining in.

"what are you three talking about?" johnson asks, raising his eyebrows at the three of us.

i shrug, "just learning more about each other, our future's and whatever."

it was overall a really nice evening, meeting the boys that had somewhat shaped jack into the type of guy he is now. meeting the parents, siblings, and family of people is one thing, but meeting the friends who surrounded your significant other is so interesting. i heard hilarious stories that embarrassed jack, stories of them being rebellious teenagers, and amazing stories that were heartwarming of them interacting with their supporters.

it was now the end of the night and we were standing outside. the only ones left now was myself, jack, johnson, nate, sammy, cameron, matthew, and taylor.

"jack, vanessa, do you guys want to come out with us or are you going to head back?" johnson asked, the rest of the guys talking amongst themselves.

jack looked down at me for a split second before returning his gaze to johnson, "nah, we'll head back. are you going to come back tonight or in the morning?"

"probably in the morning. i don't want to wake you guys up by needing a ride or anything" johnson states, jack nodding at his words.

all of the guys hugged me goodbye, saying the comment "nice to meet you", before saying goodbye to jack.

it was nice hanging out with them but nate's words continued to play in my head.
