having jack back was a feeling that warmed my heart and made me smile from ear-to-ear. i know we aren't dating, but oh do i wish we were. though, being in a relationship with him will be an ultimate struggle. not because of him, but because of his career path. we're not dating and i missed him so much, so i have no idea what it would be like if we finally did secure that connection.
"so tell me" he suddenly says, "what was it like while i was gone? what kind of things did you not tell me because i wasn't here?"
i chuckle, "i didn't really hide anything. i hid the fact that this town is extremely boring, especially without you here. your parents were over a bit, hanging out with mine. they asked me every time they saw me if we were dating yet."
jack's cheeks flush with colour, "that's cute. at least we won't have to go through the horrific thought of meeting parents."
i nod, "you're right. though, you have yet to meet my older brother."
"brandon, right?" jack asks me, confirming my older brother's name.
"yep, brandon. he might be coming next weekend with his girlfriend because he wants to talk to our parents about proposing to her" i inform him.
jack's eyes widen, "are you happy for him?"
i shrug, "his girlfriend, bethany, kind of seems like she uses him sometimes, but him and i are so close that i know how happy he is. it's not my place to come between them when i only see her sometimes. but bethany is nice to me, so i just look past it."
jack immediately looks intrigued, "you and him are closer than you and dylan?"
"me and dylan are hardly close" i laugh, "we get along, but we're not close. brandon and i have always talked about everything to each other. that only started happening once we got older, but when we're young, we would play fight. he's the one who taught me how to properly swim. i would help him practice for basketball. we were a tighter duo."
"and he's three years older than you?" jack asks, causing me to nod.
"yep. he's twenty one, im eighteen, and dylan is fifteen."
as we were placed on the couch, i ended up shifting and looking at him in his eyes.
"im really happy you're back" i reply with a smile.
jack opens his arms, allowing me to sit with him. he put me on his lap, wrapping his arms around my waist as i lay my head on his chest. he stroked his thumbs in a soothing, circular motion.
"im happy to be back" he states.
i look up at him, placing one hand on his chest and one hand on his cheek, "are you tired?"
he slightly nods, "kind of."
"do you want to go nap?" i ask, watching his eyes slightly drop from exhaustion washing over him.
taking his silence as an answer, i get up and grab his hand to take him upstairs. though we'll be napping, it's still insanely amazing having him back here.
we lay down on my bed, as jack takes me into his arms. we were chest to chest, so if i wanted to, i was able to look up at him and see if he was sleeping or not. it took hardly anytime for him to fall asleep. as he did, his breathing became much more calm and reserved, though deeper and more focused.
i couldn't completely fall asleep due to an immense amount of thoughts circulating in my head. suddenly, jack began to talk in his sleep. i think.
"i really like you" he mutters, causing me to freeze and slightly divert my eyes up at him. he was fast asleep, "im going to make you mine. just wait."
