the sunlight cascaded into the bedroom, illuminating it as my eyes opened slowly. vanessa was fast asleep in my arms beside me, her lips slightly parted as her hair trailed down her back. i felt bad, she'd probably be sore today after the events that had transpired last night.
i get out of the bed, putting on my sweatpants from yesterday with boxers before writing a note.
hey babygirl,
good morning. you're probably sore, im sorry. not really because i loved it. okay, not the point. im out for a little bit, don't worry i'll be home really soon. do me a favour and stay in bed, DON'T GET OUT. i love you, text me if you need anything
- jackleaving it on my pillow, right where she'd see it when she wakes up, i put on a t-shirt and brush my teeth before exiting my bedroom and closing the door.

returning home with two coffees and breakfast sandwiches, i turn off my car and proceed to the front door. surpringly, johnson was still not home, though it was only nine o'clock in the morning. i entered the house, hearing my name being called from upstairs.
"jack!?"
i yell back, "yeah, it's me! stay upstairs!"
taking off my shoes and heading upstairs, i opened the door to see her sitting up with her back resting against the headboard. she looks at me and smiles.
"why'd you go out and get this?" she asks, giving me a peck on the lips as i lean down and greet her.
"i knew you'd be sore, so i thought i'd treat you" i respond, sitting down on the bed and passing her the coffee i had got her, along with her sandwich.
"you're quite cocky. how'd you know i'd be sore?" she giggles.
i shrugged, "knew, assumed. same thing, baby."
she leans in, pulling me softly by my neck to give me a kiss, "thank you so much."
i smile, the two of us beginning to talk about our day and whatnot while eating.
when we were finally both finished, i laid down on my back and pulled vanessa into me.
"when's johnson coming back?" she asks, looking up at me through her eyelashes.
"no idea, why?" i respond, looking down at her while moving some stray hairs out of her face.
she smiles, rolling herself on top of me and straddling my waist, "thank you, again."
