The next morning, I woke up doing my daily routines which included arranging my bed, brushing my teeth, taking a quick shower and finally getting dressed up for school.

It was a normal day for me, well...with the exception of the heavy feeling that lingered within since the moment I came home yesterday. I tried ignoring it all afternoon, hoping that when I woke up the next day, it would be gone.

He was just a guy I had known for a few days, it couldn't have been that hard to forget him, but I knew that I was absolutely wrong now and the heaviness was presently there to confirm it.

I scoffed at my present situation.

"Get a hold of yourself Reggie" I whispered to myself.

Hearing the sounds of footsteps in the living room, I realized that Kina was also ready to go. So forgetting my previous thoughts, I grabbed my bag and walked out of my room.

Kina was in the kitchen preparing some tea from what I could see. Hearing me approach, she turned around holding a kettle in hand and with a smile she said, "Morning Reggie, did you sleep well?"

Last night was absolutely bad, I couldn't stop thinking about him and as if that wasn't worse, it seemed as if my bedroom was engulfed with the scent of vanilla. So no, I didn't sleep well.

"Yeah I did" was my reply to her question.

Kina looked at me for a second, trying to see if I was being sincere and certainly she must already know that I was lying.

Feeling uncomfortable and slightly irritated being under her scrutiny, I changed topic. "So what are you doing?"

She knew what I was trying to do but with that fact, she opted to not say anything and flow with it. "I prepared some Lilikoi black tea" she answered, while pouring the tea into the two cups placed on the countertop.

"It's Hawaiian?"

She nodded in response.

After sipping on the hot tea, she said. "I almost forgot"

Looking up, I waited for her to continue.

"There was a delivery for you this morning"

"A delivery?" I questioned in confusion, I rarely received any except for the occasional ones from both my mom and sister.

Getting down from the chair, I made my way towards the front door and spotted a vase of black and white preserved roses. They were so beautiful to the eyes, taking it in my hands, I noticed a small note attached to it.

Cara Regina,
I know you hate it when I try to buy you expensive things, but I thought that this was a special occassion for it. The colors of the roses are symbolic to our relationship, I know it's not much but with this gift I sincerely hope you could give me one more chance.

~Alessio

The heavy feeling in my chest became even worse after reading this. How was I going to quickly get over him if he kept on doing this? Weren't the texts and calls enough for him?

"Who is it from?" I heard Kina question.

"Alessio" I muttered.

Kina lingered for a while, expecting me to talk but when no more words were exchanged. She went back into the kitchen, and I took that opportunity to drop the vase back on the floor.

"It's time we go"

Looking up, Kina was already with her bag and car keys. Giving out a sigh, I grabbed my jacket and bag, then quickly opening the front door, I walked out of the apartment with Kina following behind.
