"We are so going to be late"

Hearing Kina say that for the hundredth time this morning almost made me snap at her. She has been stressed about today since we woke up to arrange our luggages, and that was almost two hours ago.

I get it, she was obviously nervous about meeting her family after such a long time but still she should cool it down a notch, cause her nervousness was starting to affect me too.

After placing the last of our belongings next to the front  door, I decided to make my way towards Kina who was currently pacing up and down the sitting room.

"We still got time Kina"

However it seemed like my words had fallen on deaf ears because all Kina did was worriedly glance at her phone and walk past me as she continued pacing. Having enough of her attitude, I stepped in front of her and grabbed her shoulders so she would stop.

"Stop panicking" I ordered.

"I can't help it." she said, "The thought of meeting my family after so long seems so surreal and I'm afraid it might just be a dream"

As soon as she said that, I removed my hand from her shoulder and roughly pinched her soft skin.

"Ah! What was that for?!"

"That was to show you that this is definately not a dream"

Hearing my statement, her pained expression soon reverted to the panicked one she had previously possessed. "But what if we miss the flight?"

I sighed. "There are still three hours remaining until its departure"

But my words did not even ease her up a bit.

Glancing at her phone once again, she asked. "What about Sofia? She was supposed to have arrived here with the taxi by now"

I took the phone from her hand and said in an assuring tone. "Don't worry about Sofia, I'm sure she will be here soon enough"

But as the words escaped my lips, doubt slowly began seeping in.

What was I saying? This was Sofia we were talking about, if there was anyone you could never depend on, it was her. And now that I thought about it, a bit of nervousness grew in me when I realized that maybe Kina's worry for her lateness might eventually be justified.

My pessimistic thoughts were immediately interrupted by the sound of a car horning loudly outside of our flat. Kina did not waste anytime in approaching a near by window and looking out of it, once she confirmed who it was, she turned to me with a relieved look on her face.

"It's Sofia. Thank God she actually made it on time"

Oh.

"You see? I told you not to worry about her"

With that said, Kina and I worked as fast as lightning as we took our luggages downstairs while also making sure that each and every door of the apartment was locked.

"Hey chicas!" Sofia greeted excitedly once we were done.

She stood next to the cab while the driver was busy loading up our belongings in its boot. "I'm sure you thought I was going to be late, didn't you?"

A nervous smile appeared on both of our faces. "Of course not, we knew we could count on you" I lied.

The latina crossed her arms as she observed our body language and with the sunglasses covering her eyes, she looked more intimidating when doing that. "Yeah bullshit" she swore, "But I'm not offended though, I too know that I can be...unreliable sometimes"
