Chapter73: Sharing or Feelings!

"Tell her you were the one who saved her and took take care of her..."

"But that would be a lie and why would I do that"

"Because if she remembers everything she won't believe you but if she remembers nothing than let her think you were the one... her savior"

"You want me to lie to best friend?"

"Yes, it will be the best way for her to move on"

"What about you?... will you be able to move on?"

"That's not important, Jadlaan because what really and truly matters is for her to live a life with no worries and fear of that man"

"But you do know even if she lives a life with no fear but she is bound to keep your promise"

"You don't have to worry about that just let me meet her after the court hearing because I know she will be leaving the city after the hearing, it will be the last favor I am asking from you"

I was pulled out of my reverie by the sound of Judge hitting the gavel. A week ago I received a call by the person I least expected after the things that happened last time. Omair wanted me to leave my busy schedule and come back to New York but I was shook it to the core when he told me about the things that happen when I left the city. I regretted on my decision of leaving Mayaan alone that night because if I had stayed with her than she might hadn't to face that man. I was thankful of Omair  from the depth of my heart for saving her but I was shocked and puzzled on his request of hiding the truth of him being the savior and just like he said she won't remember anything about the time when Omair was the one who took care of her, Mayaan didn't remembered anything and since the day she woke up she's been quite. I was surprised by Omair's daring step when he called his brothers and Father and explained them the whole situation about Mayaan's kidnapping accept he left the part of him saving her and her staying at his place out of the conversation and said that she was in her home and was taken care by a nurse and me. Her family thanked me like I was the hero because he said I was the one who saved her but I couldn't digest the fact that Omair was making me a hero in front of the people while he should be the one. He was the ready to giveaway every single penny he owned just to have her back safe and then taking care of her like a spouse and today because of Omair and his men, Saud was caught and he is sentenced for lifetime with the fine of 10 million dollars for an attempt of murder of Mayaan and Omair while Wasmi will be imprisoned for 25 years for harassment and giving drugs to Mayaan. During the entire hearing I observed that Mayaan kept her gaze low but when the judge announced the judgement for Saud ( Sid) and Wasmi, she looked up and instead of looking at her family members she glanced at Omair who's gaze was fixed on Mayaan the entire time. She looked at him silently just the way he did, it seemed they were having a silent conversation through their eyes but soon she was interrupted by her brother Ayaan who shrugs her shoulder with concern in his eyes for his sister. Mayaan's whole family was seated next to her. Her father Mr. Ahmed along with sons Ayaan, Marwan and Mike where here at the court including Mr. Jaber was here for his step daughter. Mayaan didn't wanted to inform her mother and make her worry about her. As the judge dismissed Mayaan was enveloped in warm hugs by her family and on the opposite side Omair was got tap on his shoulder by his friend Tim and brothers. Even though the two were separate and with their family but their eyes were fixed on each others. They stole glances towards each other with sadness visible in their eyes. Mayaan and her family was taken through back door with the help of Tim because at the front door reporters were waiting to interview Mayaan and ask her questions but Omair didn't want her to go through that painful memory by answering the questions, so, he suggested the backdoor plan.

We left the court without being spotted but as our car was by passing by the court's front I saw how Omair went in front of the reporters as a bait so they would stop looking for Mayaan and I guess also saw that because she lowered her gaze with clenching the hem of her dress.
