Chapter Eleven
"Done what?" Liam repeated when I didn't answer.
"Uhh.." I stuttered.
"Use those shoe shiner things." Harry saved me.
"You've never used one of those before?" Liam asked.
"Never." I lied.
"Really?"
"Really!"
"Is there one in your room?"
"Yea, Niall and Harry got it figured out."
"I what?" Niall chimed in.
"You helped Harry and I figure out how to work the shoe shiner in the room."
I squeezed his thigh under the table and tried my hardest to telepathically tell him to agree.
"Oh yea." He smiled awkwardly at Liam. "That was fun."
"Okay." Liam hesitantly went back to his own conversation with Danielle.
"Nice one." Harry held his hand up.
I high fived him.
"Thanks." I smiled.
"And?"
"So I kinda grabbed the headboard and it cracked and Niall threw a pillow across the room, knocking a lamp onto the floor, which broke, and we were yelling and swearing a lot..."
Harry's mouth was open.
"And the front desk called us three times with complaints from other rooms saying we were being too loud..."
"Why did I switch rooms?!" Harry asked.
I hit him playfully.
"What?" He laughed.
I brushed him off and turned to Eleanor.
"Hey, I'll get your pajamas back to you as soon as I can. I want to wash them first." I told her.
She smiled. She always smiled. I didn't blame her. If I had her smile, I'd never stop smiling either.
"Oh, no problem." She said. "Keep them."
"Keep them? No, they're yours." I smiled.
"I have other pajamas, they're yours now."
I smiled. "Thank you."
She smiled.
"They're probably pretty much clean anyways." She winked at me.
I laughed an awkward laugh.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"What did you and Niall do last night?"
"You know," I twiddled my thumbs under the table, "slept."
"With each other?"
"Maybe."
She laughed.
"Is that all you did?" She asked.
I looked down and laughed awkwardly.
"It's okay." She smiled. "I lost mine at some point too! Everyone does."
If she was trying to be comforting, it wasn't working. This was the most awkward conversation I'd ever had in my entire sixteen and a half years of existence.
"Was it good?"
I smiled and nodded.
She laughed. "I bet. Did he like it?"
