Chapter Thirteen
The bus driver pulled off to the side of the road in front of my house. Niall hugged me while I sat on his lap.
"You can come in." I told him.
"Can I?"
I looked at him, smiling. "Of course!"
He smiled. "Okay!"
We got up and walked to the door of the bus.
Niall turned to Paul, "Ayley's invited us in."
"Okay, cool," Paul said, "come on guys, we're going in."
By this time, a little herd of my friends and family were gathered on my front lawn. Jess was there, Chelsea, Emma, Alex, my parents, my sister and a bunch of her friends, some other girls from my school that I was slightly acquainted with. And there were also paparazzi there. When we got out of the bus, Niall hugged me and tried to shield me from the cameras. We walked to the door and walked inside.
"Your house is adorable." Niall looked around.
I laughed.
"No, really. I like the pink." He was referring to the walls in my dining room.
"It's red, actually." I smiled.
He made a face like, 'well then'.
"If you must know, the paint colour was called 'dragon's blood'" I smiled.
"Did you just do it?"
"No, it's been red forever, like at least ten years."
"And you remember the exact name of the paint colour?"
"Yep."
He laughed. "You need a hobby!"
My jaw dropped as I playfully punched him and laughed. My mum came in the door behind us, then came the rest of the boys, Jess and my friends, my sister and her friends, and my mum didn't let the other girls come in. Paul and the rest of the team stayed in the bus. My mum held out her hand to Niall, who took it and introduced himself with a handshake.
"I'm Niall." He said.
"And you're sixteen, from Mullingar, Ireland, in the midlands of Ireland." My mum quoted Niall's X Factor audition tape.
Niall looked at her funny.
"Ayley's played your audition so much, I have it memorized." My mum laughed. "Come in! Can I get you boys anything to eat or drink?"
"I'll have a glass of water, if it's no trouble." Harry said.
"Yea, me too please." Zayn added.
"Yea, no problem." My mum turned to get glasses out of the cupboard for them. "Would you guys like ice?"
"Oh, yes please." Harry and Zayn said together.
My mum nodded.
"We can go downstairs, if you'd like." I suggested.
"Sure." Louis smiled.
I led them to the stairs and held out my hand for them to go first.
"But ladies first." Niall smiled and held out his own hand.
I smiled and went down the stairs.
"Yep." I said when we got to the bottom of the stairs. "This is my basement. Not very exciting."
I turned around and Harry was already playing with my fish. There weren't that many, and they were all tiny, but they were following his finger around when he drew pictures on the glass tank like I'd trained them to do. They never did it for me but apparently my training had paid off. Either that or Harry's fingertip looked tasty.
