Also, if you haven't seen "When They See Us" on Netflix, I strongly encourage you to. It's hard to watch, but it sheds light on the problems with our justice system. If we don't know the problems, how can we fix them?

"This is LJ. That's Lance, & that's Shaq. Lea's brothers. These are my cousins Wayne & Obediah, we call him "O."
"Nice to meet y'all," Shaq & his brothers greeted.
"Whea' y'all from?" Wayne asked.
"Technically here, but we grew up in Nashville," LJ answered. "What y'all do for living, if y'all don't mind me asking?"
"It's cool. I'm co-owner with Rome of our tat shop," Wayne answered as he kept missing free throws from the 3-point line.
"I'm a mechanical engineer & I coach little league football, too," O responded.
"Oh, yea? What's the age range? I may need to put my sons on the team," LJ responded.
Rome listened, confused by LJ's comment, but said nothing.
"Five to twelve. We're always accepting new members. We'd love to have y'all," O said.
"No doubt," LJ responded as he and O dapped up.
"Let's get this game started!" Wayne spoke. "I'm ready to whoop some ass."
"You talk the most trash for a nigga who always lose," Rome said.
"You're worried about the wrong thing, nigga" Wayne said, throwing Lance the ball. "Check up."

"I really enjoyed my day today, babe," I spoke, looking at my clothes & trying to decide which shirt to wear to bed. "It started a little rocky, but it definitely got better." Unable to choose a shirt, I threw on one of Rome's instead.
"I'm happy to hear that, baby. I'm glad you enjoyed it," Rome said as I turned off the light.
"I just hope I have more time with them before they go back to Nashville."
"They said they're going back?" Rome asked with confusion evident in his voice.
"Well, I'd imagine so," I said as I climbed into bed & laid my head on his chest. "That's where the boys' women & children are. I'd assume they wanted to go back. Why?" I asked him.
"When we were on the court, LJ was talking about putting his sons on O's little league team. I figured he was probably trying to move out hea'."
"Did you ask him?"
"Na. If he got something to say, he'll say it," Rome said.
"You're right. I guess we'll know in our own time."
"We will," Rome said as he placed a kiss on her forehead. "Good night, baby."
"I'm not tired," I said, climbing on top of Rome & placing a kiss on his lips.
"What you tryna do, ma?" Rome asked, licking his lips.
"I'll show you."

"There he go," Shaq said.
"You sure?" LJ asked.
"Yea. The nurses said he's about 5'9, bald head, & he get off at 11," Shaq pointed out the window. "That nigga there is about 5'9, bald-ass head, & it's 11:08. Gotta be him," Shaq said confidently.
LJ looked at Lance then back out at the man walking to his car.
"Aiight. Just to be sure, Lance, I want you to get clarification," LJ instructed. "On your signal, we'll move in."
"Bet," Lance said as he got out of the car.
"So what's the plan?" Shaq asked as he & LJ watched Lance do his job.
"Same as always," LJ spoke as he saw Lance's signal. "We fuck him up." ——-
