The day arrived for fun and adventure on the Goodtime III. The weather even cooperated; warming to a balmy seventy-eight degrees. Kael, dressed in a short-sleeved shirt with a logo, khakis, and sandals, opted not to bring a jacket.

Wearing jeans, a blouse, and a jacket, Sachi quickly regretted her fashion choice. Taking off her jacket, she wrapped it around her waist.

Feeling antsy, she grabbed a bag of healthy snacks from off the kitchen counter while Kael sat down on the couch to chat with her parents. "I'm going to take these out to the car," she said. "Okay," Kael said.

He took his car remote out of his pocket and tossed them to her. Catching them, she slipped on her shoes and headed out the door.

Inhaling a deep breath of the crisp morning air, she enjoyed the smell of the lilies, hibiscus, and hydrangeas blooming in the flower garden. Her mom had planted the foliage by the front bay window the year before.

Sachi loved Spring. The vividness and bright colors of the clear blue sky gave a sense of newness and reinvigoration from the dullness and overcast skies of Winter.

The delightful scent of the foliage filling her nostrils, her mood felt lighter.  She approached the Toyota Camry with the remote in hand.

Unlocking the door, she grabbed the door handle when from the corner of her eye; she noticed a car that looked like something from out of the seventies with tinted windows driving down the street.

As it neared her house, it slowed for a minute than sped away. "Must be lost," she thought. Keeping to her task at hand, she opened the passenger door, set the bag down on the seat, and shut and locked it.

"Sweetheart," Lars said as Sachi returned from outside, "I was just telling Kael the news about the rental car that I'm picking up on Monday."

"Cool," Sachi replied.

"My attorney advised me that since the accident was the other driver's fault, they are responsible for paying for the repairs to the car. You see, everything is working itself out."

"Can't argue with that," Sachi smiled.

"Has Wolf called you?" he said switching topics. She shook her head. "No. I haven't heard from him. He was pretty upset when he learned that the body identified as his secretary," she said. She recalled when she found out the news.

Sachi arrived in the lobby to find Wolf standing by the water cooler. His head hung low.

"What's wrong, McCoy?"

She'd seen her godfather upset before but never like this. He seemed totally broken. Wolf looked up at her, made a face, then handed her a piece of paper.

"Gia Alessa?" She said confused.

"Gia was my secretary," Wolf said almost in a whisper. "She was identified as the second victim of the Copycat Killer."

"Gia," Chad said, his mouth gaped open. "It can't be."

Sachi glanced over at Chad having forgotten that he was standing beside her—her focus solely on her godfather. "She didn't deserve this," Wolf said. "She just had a baby girl two months ago."

"A baby girl?" Chad said wide-eyed. He swallowed, his face turning pale. "I-I didn't know."

"How would you have known," Wolf snapped. "Only a few people knew. I was lucky enough to be one of them."

Chad gulped. "Forgive me. I didn't mean to be insensitive."

Blinking back the tears forming in his eyes, Wolf balled his fists. "Whatever it takes, I'm going to catch that piece of shit," he vowed. "Dead or alive. I don't care."
