sammy knew everything. what the town would say about his athena. what los santos thought about her. everything. sammy had an upper hand being a santo and the only guy on the block who spoke to athena. he knew everything but never brought up how all their assumptions were wrong, and most definitely wouldn't bring up the fact that he lived with her and matias. sammy was glad no one but los santos had seen athena with a baby, and he knew los santos wouldn't say a word. given the fact that the groups of , ruthless cold hearted gang bangers, or so how people referred them as, felt bad how the town shunned his athena. of course he didn't tell athena everything people would say about her, knowing it would break the poor young girls kind heart.

sammy had to immediately leave when a member brought up athena, hearing them saying they wanted to smash and dash, even more now that they knew she had a kid and made jokes about being a step daddy. he couldn't bear hearing them talk about her like that.

sammy hated that he was a santo but he did it for athena and matias, their safety was his priority. he knew being in a gang wasn't the best for their safety but it kept them safe from what they ran from. he hated that athena needed to drive back home at 3 am almost every night from her job. knowing anything could happen, even more now that the town is getting more and more suspicious about her. a slip up could cost them anything, cost him her.

sammy laughed that the gang didn't realize he joined at the same time athena had moved in, or why they never picked him up from a house and he just popped up out of nowhere. but they were a desperate gang looking for more protection in the hood, and a stranger that was down enough to earn the ability to be a santo in a blink of an eye was something they couldn't pass up. he knew he had to be careful making his was back to athena's house, or the excuses he would make on why he would always deny a ride from one of the homies home. he would do anything to make sure athena felt safe and if being kept in the dark made her feel safe, he was going to do just that.
