we all heard the car door slam shut and we knew athena has arrived. the look on her beautiful face was heart breaking. the way she let a loud gasp out, the way her hands trembled as she brought them to her lips. matias knew something was up and had a small frown. quickly athena set the car seat down, not even bothering to take matias out and rushed to sammys side. she threw the duffle bag and started to pull multiple tools wrapped in a blue paper.
jose slowly walked to matias and took him out of the car seat and gently set him on the couch. and all that was running through his head was that the beautiful baby boy was about to be left without a father, because of him. "oscar, oscar!" he turned to see that athena was calling him. he watched as athena ripped his shirt open with a pair of scissors and watched as another gasp fell from her lips. he watched as she carefully cut open his skin to remove the bullet from his shoulder.
oscar then started to wonder where she learned to do this, despite the fact that she was a crying mess her hands were steady and light. "oscar i need you to focus on sammy and not me" athena said with a light laugh which caused oscar to blush and stutter as he looked for an excuse on why he was looking at her. "okay i'm going to need you to hold these clamps in place for me while I take the first bullet out and when I take it out I need you to let go and cover it with this rag i'm going to give you, okay?" athena could see the fear in his eye as she explained what he needed to do. "benito baby can you go wet this with warm water, ring it out, then pour this packet on it rinse it out and bring it to me please" "jose can put the smallest amount of warm water and bring it to me please love so i can show you what to mix it with" "oscar sweetheart you need to focus please!" athena told the three of them. they quickly did what she said but they all held a small blush at the fact that she had called them baby.

and hour and a half later, athena was getting ready to give sammy a shot of adrenaline to hopefully wake him up. she took a look at the three mean standing by her side and noticed that benito had a deep cut in his arm, jose was bleeding from his side and oscar had a pretty nasty scrape on his left cheekbone. athenas heart felt heavy that they put sammys well being before their own. athena knee that sammy had no pulse for a while, she also knew that she could only give him so much adrenaline. she quickly pulled the bottle out of her bag and pulled the needle. she took a deep breath and injected the first dosage. she knew she needed to give it at least a minute to kick in. the longest 60 seconds of her life. and nothing happen, she started to panic but didn't want to show it. she pulled another full syringe and injected into his body. and she waited, they all waited. and just like that athena felt her whole world come crashing down.
