athena wasn't so concerned about sammy falling asleep. she knew the huge amount of pain, his body couldn't handle it. she checked his temperature again and decided to leave the top half of his body uncovered. just in case his temperature went up. she left two pills and a water bottle on the nightstand and kissed his forehead.
athena looked at the time and noticed it was 10:30 am. picking up a grumpy matias and made her way to the kitchen. she noticed that oscar was cutting up some fruit and looked up. "i'm making breakfast, do you want a plate?" "yeah that would be great" she said smiling. oscar told her to sit and refused to let her help him with anything. a few moments later oscar set down two plates which contained, 2 pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon and a side of mixed fruit. he also brought out a tiny plate that had bananas cut into really tiny pieces. "I um cut him bananas, but I didn't know if he liked them or if he even eats solid food yet." oscar looked nervous and avoid eye contact. she let out a light laugh " he actually loved bananas, which is so weird because that's literally the most disgusting fruit" she rambled on while giving him tiny pieces. "what the heck, how can't you like bananas? it's one of the superior fruit" oscar laughed at her and they continued to argue over dumb things and just like that two hours flew by.
"athena never laughs that hard at my jokes, I just might have to kick your ass spooky" sammys voice scared both of them. athena quickly ran to him because no way in hell should he even be standing, let alone walking. oscar was left speechless and frozen. "sammy what the fuck are you even up!" she smacked his hands as he tried to take matias from her hands. "ya nena, i'm fine. i got tired of laying there and hearing you laugh" he said as he limped to see the food on her plate. "it's not even like that sammy" oscar tried to make things better. causing athena to laugh at the fact that he probably thinks sammy is pissed off, when he really wasn't. "alright tell me whatever you were telling her that caused her to almost pee her pants" he looked dead in his eyes in a serious voice. rolling her eyes she hit his head and told him to knock it off. "oscar don't even listen to this dumbass, he's not even being serious." she said while bouncing matias on her legs.
as oscar realized sammy was joking the whole vibe changed in the room. athena sat back with a smile on her face. moments like this made her want to cry of happiness. a few hours had passed and it was now 6:30 pm. benito and jose had pulled up and were disappointed to see that matias and sammy were taking a small nap, which athena basically had to force sammy to take , oscar and jose were outside cooking, athena and benito were inside making salsa and getting to know each other.
"so how did you and sammy meet?" benito was hesitant asking her but he was curious as fuck. "our parents were best friends, worked in the same thing. so we kinda just always been with each other" she thought about the times when they were younger and she smiled. "so y'all been together forever then" benito said "only because she won't leave me alone" sammys tired voice said as he limped over to them. "shut the fuck up, more like you decided to go literally everywhere I went, annoying ass" she said rolling her eyes. sam let out a loud laugh and started to cough.
everyone was sitting on the table laughing and having a good time when athenas phone started to ring. she saw that her coworker luna was trying to facetime her. "hey luna" athena said while fixing the camera so she could still eat and see her. "hey girl i know it your day off but I was wondering if on a scale of 1-10 how much you would be willing to cover my 10 today and i'll work your 16 tomorrow" luna said quickly and made a little pouty face. "let me find out your talking to my girl lunita"sammy said and went over as fast as he could. "oh my gosh, hey papi!! I haven't seen you in a while, thena is being stingy." luna said while blowing a kiss. "what time do you go in" "12" she mumbled. athena looked at the time and it was 9:30. " only if you pinky promise to work my 16 tomorrow" "you know I got you, and plus dr. jones is on floor tonight and he loves your light hands" she said while wiggling her eyebrows and made her voice deeper. "wooow lunita your looking at other guys, might need to shoot that fool. te quiero and good luck on the 16 tomorrow" he waved and sat back down on his seat. "luna cállate he doesn't even say that! but don't worry i'll go in tonight, be safe!" athena laughed and ended the call.
she looked up and saw the three guys shocked by the conversation that lasted less than 5 minutes. "damn your friend is so fine wow" jose said while serving himself more food. "right!! she's the most adorable thing ever"sammy said while trying to take matias from oscar which only caused oscar to hold matias tighter. athena then realized she had no one to watch matias and started to panic, sammy noticed her mood change."baby come with me to the bathroom real quick" she quietly excused herself and followed sammy. "I can watch him, don't worry i'll be fine." "sammy you literally can't even pick him up, I need to take care of you" she said while a tear slid down her cheek. "baby matias sleeps through the night. we can go home and sleep as soon as you leave. i'll even make sure to have everything ready in case something happens. i'm a champ, we'll be okay." he said while kissing the top of her head and slightly rocked her back and fourth.
athena insistes on cleaning and not letting the guys help. once she was done she made sure everything was to her standards and shut the light off. " jose sweetheart pick your shirt up please" she walked over and wanted to check his ribs. "make sure you wrap it up when you get home but it looks good." "thank you for helping me out, athena I appreciate it" she shot him a soft smile and she could see the light blush fanning across his cheeks. "beni baby let me see your arm" beni walked over and let her see his arm. beni felt like a little kid getting babied. "don't forget to put that cream I gave you on it and wrap it up again tonight "
sammy came back and clapped his hands slowly "alright mamas are you ready to go? it's almost 11 and you need to change and stuff." she nodded. she went to pick up all the bags and insisted that she does it alone. the guys watched her struggle a little trying to hold all the bags and open the door. she turned the car on and ran back inside. she gave everyone a hug and handed matias around to say his goodbyes. sammy daped then up as best he could and the little family walked out the door.
