"My son? He shot my son?" Naruto asked the young nurse who had just told him the horrifying news. The news of the hospital being on lockdown due to an armed shooter had relayed to him late, and so did the news that his son was involved.
"Yes, Mr. Uzumaki, he was shot in the right shoulder, and the bullet punctured his brachial artery, while fracturing his shoulder blade, which is why there was so much blood on the scene." A nurse said as he stood next to the police officer. Hinata remained silent as her interlocked hands began to shake.

"His artery? Is he okay?" The nurse nodded,
"Thanks to Dr. Uchiha he will be okay, his surgeon is removing the bullet as we speak, and you will be able to see him soon."
As Naruto spoke to the nurse and the police officer, Hinata took deep breaths as she tried to calm down. Her mind was racing at 100 miles per hour, and she had a million questions, but she couldn't seem to express herself in any way. "Okay, thank you both." Naruto said before putting his arm around his wives slouched shoulders.

"Hime, I know you're worried, but look at me." He said while cupping his wife's face in his hands. Her beautiful lavender colored eyes stared into his as both of theirs held tears. She let hers fall, while Naruto smiled through his own. "He will be okay. After his surgery he'll be that same bubbly kid he's always been. We have to be strong for him, okay?"
Sighing she tried to speak, but only a soft cry left her lips. "Why him?"

"What if he's not okay, Naruto? He was shot for gods sake. Oh my God, he's going to have to kiss football goodbye. He's going to be so devastated." Naruto listened to his wife express her concerns, and he became worried himself. He had tried to take a more optimistic perception, but he realized that she had very valid points.
This is going to be so hard for him to handle.
"You're right, this will be a challenge for him, but are we forgetting that he is our son? Boruto will get through this, and he will bounce back even stronger. I can promise you that."Hinata nodded, knowing that her husband was absolutely right. Boruto was a strong young man.

"Hey you guys, have you heard anything?" They heard Sakura say, with guilt in her heart and a pale face. She felt that she could've avoided this situation completely if she had just gotten Bolt to leave a few minutes earlier.
Though Sakura had saved a countless number of lives, she had never actually seen anyone die.
After performing a countless amount of surgeries during her decade long career, she had never had a patient die. But this time it was different. Haron wasn't her patient, but he was a child.

It was quite strange, she had met him a countless amount of times, and thought he was a great guy. She wanted to feel some kind of hatred toward him, but she couldn't. He was a troubled kid who needed help, not to be murdered the way he was. He was a child. Someone's child. She couldn't stop the images of his skull bleeding profusely, as her hands became drenched with his lukewarm, crimson colored liquid. It made her sick.

"We did, and unfortunately the bullet punctured an artery and fractured his shoulder. However the nurse said that he will be okay." She let out an instant sight of relief, while clutching the silver necklace around her neck. "Thank God. How are you both holding up? This can't be easy." She asked the couple that stood in front of her. Hinata hadn't said a word to her which was strange, but she didn't question it. If she is upset with me, she has every right to be. I almost got her son killed.

"We're doing alright. I guess the best we can be, you know?" Naruto said with a slight smile on his lips as his hand stroked his wife's. Sakura smiled slightly, "How are you doing? We never got a chance to thank you, the nurses said that if he hadn't had your treatment when the injury happened he would've died."
"Don't thank me, I would've taken the bullet myself if he had let me." She said truthfully. "And we know you would've. I really just can't believe any of this happened." Sakura nodded while looking at Hinata, who looked at the ground while tears threatened to fall from her eyes. She felt guilty herself.
This all could've been avoided if I had just spoken up. Our children wouldn't be in this situation.
