Kakashi put his head down on his desk.
"What's wrong, Kakashi? Already got the baby blues?"
Word had already traveled that fast?
Shizune was standing next to his desk, TonTon in her arms grunting happily.
"I can't believe I let this happen. I've always relied on Mizuka to take the herbs she needed. And she's always been so careful about communicating her birth control needs. I should've taken a more active role. I have no idea if I should be terrified or elated. It's already been a lot, becoming the Hokage over the past six weeks, but now this? We were never planning to have kids."
He put his head back down on his desk. He felt Shizune's gentle on his back in an attempt to comfort him.
"Hey, it's gonna be okay. Babies are a blessing. And it's not like you're doing this by yourself. Mizuka knows more about babies than anyone I know, and you've got a lot of support as well."
She walked to the front of his desk and sat on the corner. He looked up at her.
"How am I supposed to do this, Shizune? I only had my father for a very short time. The only kids I've been around recently are my students."
He straightened up in his chair and looked at the ceiling, sighing.
"I guess you can only take it one day at a time, Kakashi. I think once you give this some time to sink in completely that you'll feel better. And maybe get some sleep. You look like you didn't sleep at all last night."
"I didn't. Whenever I closed my eyes, I had nightmares about this baby ruining Z's life. She didn't have the time to heal people or practice botany. Only to take care of this baby. And she resented me."
Shizune rolled her eyes.
"You worry too much. Geez. How is Z feeling about all of this?"
"Hard to tell. She seems excited, but I'm afraid the reality of it hasn't hit her yet."
Shizune stood up.
"Lord Sixth, I think you need to go home and get some sleep. Take a hot shower, clear your head, and get some sleep. Mizuka's working until late tonight, so you'll have plenty of time to process everything. Go talk to her. She needs you."
***
Kakashi leaned against the shower, letting the hot water fall against his tired body. It was strange, though. It was a different kind of tired. Usually, his body was broken and physically exhausted, but now his body felt cooped up and unused, but he was emotionally exhausted; sometime he hadn't experienced in a long time.
He awoke to Mizuka walking in the door, a dango stuck in her mouth and her bag slung over her shoulder. She leaned down and kissed him gently.
"Hey, how long have you been home?"
He yawned and rolled over.
"Shizune sent me home. She said I needed some sleep to be an effective leader. And I needed some time to process everything and talk to you.
"Mizuka smiled warmly.
"I'm about to take a warm bath. I've been on my feet all day and I'm exhausted."
She walked to the bathroom and started the water, stripping down slowly before she entered the warm bath. He got up and walked to her, joining her slowly. She looked good. She actually looked very content and happy, which is something he wished he could feel right now. She brushed her fingers against his cheek gently.
"Talk to me, Kakashi. You don't look good."
"I feel overwhelmed."
She looked at him sadly.
"I know the timing isn't good, but I'll do whatever I can to help. I'm so sorry-"
"No. Don't apologize. Never apologize for this baby. I don't know how we're going to do this, but we will. I'm just afraid that you'll... resent me."
"Resent you? For what?"
He spoke quietly.
"I know you didn't want kids, and I did this to you. This wasn't part of your dream, and I knew that. I... should've been more careful."
She brushed his face tenderly with her fingers.
"I could never resent you. I've lived my dreams, and now they're changing. I'm not just a healer from Tenchi anymore, I'm Mizuka Hatake. I'm the wife of the Sixth Hokage, I'm a sister, and I'm about to be a mother. Things change, and so do dreams."
"I know, it's not as exciting as being an elite healer..."
She sat in his lap, making him instantly hard.
"We've lived exciting lives, my Love. Aren't you ready for something completely different?"
She smiled at him tenderly. He couldn't help but smile.
"Maybe I am."
He placed a gentle hand on her belly.
"How are you feeling tonight?"
She put her hand over his.
"Just feeling a little tired. And I can feel my hormones going crazy. I've been thinking about sex all day."
He grinned mischievously.
"I can help with that."
Kakashi kissed down her neck passionately. She seemed like she was embracing this new change, so maybe he should as well. She was riding him, licking her lips and staring deeply into his eyes. This beautiful woman was carrying on the Hatake name. He was going to have a small clan of his own. He was already in charge of the village, so why couldn't he handle a new Hatake? Besides, he had Mizuka. Her face was contorting in pleasure. He decided, at that moment, he would allow himself to be excited about this new addition. He might as well be, because this was happening. He allowed the pleasure to wash over him as he could feel his body ramping up.
"You're... having my baby...."
Her eyes lit up. He could tell she was about to climax.
"Yes! Yes! I am! I love you so much!"
He pulled her into him and cradled her tightly and he came into her intensely.
"You're having my baby!"
She screamed into his chest, coming as well. He could feel her pussy flooding his pulsating cock. It was so intense that he could feel tears falling down his face. He could do this. And he wasn't doing it alone. She looked up at him and he touched his forehead against hers, whispering.
"I love you to, Z. So much. Thank you for this amazing gift."
Mizuka fell right to sleep after he carried to bed, but Kakashi lay there awake. His eyes kept wandering to his beautiful bride laying next to him on her stomach, both arms under her pillow, wearing one of Kakashi's old uniform shirts. Her long, thick hair framed her face and outline of her curves. She was everything he could've dreamed of and more. And, in her small frame, she was carrying his baby. This thought made him want to roll her over so he could kiss her belly, but he had done plenty of that. And he had the feeling there was plenty more of that to do. So he contented himself with quietly watching her.
