Kakashi's Request - Kakashi

It took two days for Mizuka to finally regain consciousness. Two agonizing days of worrying if Lady Tsunade was wrong in her assessment. And for two days Kakashi laid in the hospital bed next to his wife, or sat in the chair positioned next to the bed and talked to Baby Hatake. He told his unborn child about how he met Mommy and all about the village. He told his baby that they would be the Hokage's child, which is a big responsibility. And that Mommy and Daddy loved them very much. Even though the conversation was one sided, Baby Hatake fluttered at the sound of Daddy's voice. Finally, in the evening of the second day, Mizuka slowly opened her eyes and groaned in pain. Kakashi held her hand as she regained consciousness.

"Mizuka? Can you hear me?"

Careful not to bump her IV, he moved to caress her cheek softly.

"Darling, wake up."

"Ka-Kakashi? Ugh... I feel awful..."

"You overestimated yourself with child and completely depleted your chakra with your Rhapsody of Life-"

She shot up and grabbed her belly.

"Our baby!"

"Shhh... Baby Hatake is fine. Actually, Baby is more than fine; our unborn child saved your life."

"What? How?"

Kakashi could see that the sudden motion caught up with her. He put an arm around her shoulders as she began to lose consciousness again, easing her back onto the pillows.

Mizuka, stay with me. Focus..."

He put a comforting hand on hers.

"I'm okay...."

"Baby actually acted as a chakra surrogate for you until you began to replenish your own."

"B-but, that's impossible..."

Tsunade doesn't think so. She thinks it may be because of the Hatake bloodline."

He could see her eyes grow wide.

"Your bloodline is so powerful that your unborn child saved me?"

"There's something else, Mizuka. Lady Tsunade advised against healing until after you've given birth."

The tears began to form in her eyes immediately.

"I won't do that jutsu again while pregnant. It won't happen again."

"Mizuka, please. You need to take care of yourself. You're progressing further along in your pregnancy-"

"I don't need you to tell me what to do. I'm an elite healer. I know what I'm doing."

Her snap took him by surprise.

"Mizuka, no-"

"No! You don't get to tell me what I can and cannot do! I'm not some human incubator that's growing your baby!"

Kakashi didn't want it to come to this.

"As the reigning Hokage, you're not to step foot in this hospital again until it's time for you to give birth. That's an order."

"Fuck you! I'll move back to Tenchi! Where my support system is!"

"Go ahead. Because you won't be healing in my village."

"Get the fuck out of here!"

Kakashi turned and walked out, shutting the door behind him. That went very poorly. He could still hear her screaming as he walked down the hallway, toward the exit. He passed Tsunade in the hallway on his way out.

"She's all yours. I told her that you didn't want her healing while pregnant, and she's pissed. At me. She blew me off so I gave her a direct order. So now she's moving back to Tenchi."

Tsunade rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, right. I'll take it from here. Don't worry, she'll get over it. Why don't you see if you can get Naruto out of Hinata's room and take him with you. She's awake, but he won't leave her side. She needs some rest. 113."

"Right."

He headed down the hall to room 113, cracking the door open to find Naruto laying in the hospital bed with Hinata.

"Psst. Hey Naruto."

He lifted his head to see who was trying to get his attention.

"Hey Sensei."

"C'mon. Let's go get a bowl of ramen. My treat."

Naruto looked over at Hinata.

"You should go. I'll be here when you get back. Go eat and take a little time for yourself."

Naruto got up and followed his Sensei, who caught him blowing Hinata a kiss before he shut the door.
