jeremy and michael had finally arrived back at the heere household, sitting down in the beanbags that they've had since they were almost twelve. the skinnier male was staring down at the carpeted floor, his breath shaky and uneasy.

michael sat beside him with his eyebrow raised, holding a full bottle of mountain dew red. "you can leave right now, jeremy." the tan boy mumbled softly, looking over at the opposite direction. the other turned his attention to his best friend, frowning. "what..?"

"you can leave this, you can leave our 12 years of friendship to be popular with all of your cooler friends. you can leave us. you can leave me." michael shut his eyes tightly at the thought of being a complete loner, seeing jeremy wander the halls, hooked arms with christine.

jeremy's lips parted in slight shock, leaving? what? he clenched his fists together as they shook, glancing at the mountain dew bottle that michael had in his hands. he sighed and turned back to the floor, "i never mean't to make it such a mess."

michael fluttered his eyes open at hearing the other's croaky and sad voice, still staring the opposite direction, avoiding eye contact. "i never thought that it'd go this far." jeremy mumbled and shut his eyes tightly, his elbows resting on his knees.

michael sighed shakily and turned his head to stare at the tv, listening to jeremy out of pity. it's not like he wanted jeremy to leave, not at all. he wanted him to stay forever. "i've never had this type of thing before," the pale boy mumbled softly and looked over at michael.

"i've never had that perfect girl who somehow could see.." jeremy scooted his beanbag closer to michaels, no, he's never had a perfect girl. but he's had a perfect boy, and he was sitting right beside him. "the good part of me." he said softly.

michael shrugged his shoulders slightly and shook his head slowly, squeezing his eyes shut and keeping his eyes away from the other's gaze. the shorter frowned and looked away, "that's not a worthy explanation.. i know there is none." he choked out slightly, tears welling up in his baby blue eyes.

"nothing can make s-sense of all these things i've done." jeremy stuttered, rubbing his nose with his shoulder to keep him from sniffling. michael raised his eyebrow and bit his lip, pulling his hood up on his head to cover his face.

"there's nothing i can say, except sometimes you see e-everything you wanted, and sometimes.." jeremy turned to michael and rested his hand on his shoulder, causing the taller to flinch. "you see everything you wished you had, and it's right there!" jeremy exclaimed with quiet sobs in his voice.

"right there, right there!" the crying boy repeated, "i-in front of you." he choked out as he was cut off by quiet sobs and sniffles, making michael widen his eyes and quickly turn to his best friend.

the room was filled with nothing but dead silence and the quiet cries that emitted from jeremy's lips, that were also quivering like-wise with the rest of his shaking body. michael was frozen. he's never seen jeremy cry this harshly before. he sighed, slowly crawling over to him. "jeremy-"
