"i'm not inviting you to my birthday party if you let me fall."

"no promises."

michael shot jeremy a cocky grin as he carefully guides him across the rollerskating rink, because jeremy can't skate for shit. hell, he can't even stand properly without the skates. faint 1980's music played through the speakers and throughout the whole arcade building, which was material girl by madonna.

the two boys are just starting to figure out their true feelings for one another, and attempt a proper and stable relationship. even though, the two are complete crackheads, so it wasn't that easy. this was their first date. so far, so good.

"i just -- i don't really know h-how to respond," michael stuttered out, fiddling with the hem of his hoodie as his knee bounced anxiously, seated on his best friend's pac-man themed bed. jeremy sighs, scratching the back of his neck -- sweat starting to bead his upper back.

"i-i mean- it's okay i-if you don't like m-me back because i've put you through a lot of shit, a-and i still feel horrible about t-treating you like that in the past, a-and lately we haven't been talking as much and--"

"jeremy," michael stopped the other boy's words that were starting to jumble and sound like gibberish, placing his hand on top of the other's. he did like him. a lot. "i.. i want to go out with you."

"like -- like a date?"

"y-yeah, like a date." michael smiled, rubbing the pale boy's hand with his thumb slowly. "i like you too."

jeremy groans and rolls his eyes, gripping at the other's hands tightly as he wobbled around like a toddler. speaking of toddlers -- there was a five year old skating around the rink like it was nothing. jeremy felt helpless. michael laughs,

"don't skate how you walk, just.. stride, ya know?" he shrugs, looking at him. "push your feet to the side." he instructed, and the scrawny boy tries doing so, but he ends up almost falling face first into the hardwood floor, shrieking. michael instinctively caught jeremy by under his arms, eyes widening.

"uh," michael felt his face flush for a moment, jeremy's face being buried into his chest as he groaned in misery. "let's go get some food, you loser." he laughs, slowly rolling himself backwards towards the edge of the rink.

michael was a bit surprised that him and jeremy haven't broken yet -- not break up, obviously, because they weren't even dating yet. the two had some tension between them, specifically--

--and they both knew it. both of them were virgins, michael hasn't had his first kiss yet, and they haven't done anything sexual. well, jerking off of course, and jeremy made out with brooke, but that doesn't count. this was a whole, fresh new chapter of their lives.

after a bit of struggle of jeremy shakily trying to roll himself over to a bench, and michael accidentally yeeting one of his skates onto the rink, they ended up sitting at the small cafeteria in the arcade/rollerskating rink.

"here ya go." michael says as he plops a sandwich from subway down onto the table in front of jeremy, including a coca cola. the skinnier boy smiles, turning his head. "thank y--"

jeremy got cut off by michael kissing the side of his lips, which he was originally was going in for a kiss on the cheek, ended up in an awkward peck. he quickly pulls away, chuckling nervously. their faces were entirely red.

jeremy paused, "does.." he trailed off as michael sat in front of him, sipping on iced tea. "does that count as our first kiss or--"

"i mean.. i don't think that was a very good kiss, so no, personally, i don't think that counts." michael cuts him off, chewing on the straw of his iced tea. jeremy shrugs, he was kind of glad, because he wanted their first kiss to be special.

jeremy was about to take a bite into his subway, before raising his eyebrows. "wait, was michael mell about to give me a kiss on the cheek?" he gasps almost dramatically, turning his attention to the tawny boy. michael rolls his eyes, groaning and burying his face into one hand.

"no, maybe, possibly, but--"

"you were!" jeremy squeals, reaching one hand over to poke at the other boy's squishy cheek with a small mole by his upper lip. "you were trying to be romantic!" he teases, snickering with a sly grin plastered across his face.

michael widens his eyes as he feels his cheek being squished by a skinny finger, looking at him and huffing, his cheeks puffing out. "i will bite your finger off, jeremiah." he challenges, making a biting noise with his teeth that always made jeremy cringe.

"no, but i'll let you bite something else." jeremy mumbles, flicking a piece of hanging lettuce off of his sandwich before widening his eyes -- realizing that michael overheard that, and also has wide eyes. "i-i mean--" (y'all he means michael can bite his neck)

"your dick? because yes, i will bite your dick off. say bye to babies." michael smirks, making the chomping noise with his teeth once more, and jeremy almost shrieks at the comeback. "mICHAEL!" he voicecracks.

"save screaming my name for later." michael slams his fist on the table as if what he said was the most smart-ass thing he said in his whole life, which, it kinda was.

jeremy sat there, dumbfounded, and now just a flustered, stammering mess that was frantically looking around and dropping his sandwich on the table. michael laughs wildly, snorting and leaning his forehead on the table.

which, both of the teens were unintentionally feeling the same way, about hoping that there was a later
