Chapter 6:

I woke up, my hand still clenched around the compass. I blinked repeatedly, shaking off the sleep. Outside, the sun was at high rise. I moved so I was sitting on the edge of the bed. I stretched and a smile appeared on my face. I had no idea why.

I jumped out of bed and walked lazily over to my closet. I pulled out black ripped skinny jeans and a Ghost BC tee shirt. I slid into my clothes and hopped around my room on one foot trying to put on my shoes. I tossed my compass in my backpack then tossed it on my back. I danced down the stairs and said goodbye to my mother on the way out.

"Be home by praise hour!" She hollered at me as the door slammed shut behind me.

I jogged out to the forest and started walking when the forest was thick enough no one would see me. As I walked among the trees, I noticed all of the Satan symbols tagged on the trees. Half of them; I probably put them there.

I looked down at my feet as I walked onto the road. I was starring at my feet, lost in thought when it was too late and I realized I was in the middle of the road, two bright headlights coming up to me.

I didn't move myself. I covered my eyes with my arms, and the car never slowed down. Two strong arms wrapped around me and tossed me to the side of the road. The side of my jeans were ripped, and my arm was tore up. The guy still had his arms wrapped around me, holding me tight and breathing heavily. Adrenaline running through both of us. "Jamie what the fuck?"

It was Zach's voice. "What was I supposed to do?"

He got up and wipped off his jeans before holding out his hand and helping me up. "Geez I don't know...Move maybe?"

I used his hand to pull myself back to my feet. "Did you see who that was anyways? They never stopped."

He shrugged. "Nah, I was too busy saving some locals life."

I looked down at my jeans and examined my arm. It was the same arm with the bad wrist. I opened my backpack and got out his shirt and wrapped it around my arm again. Zach stood there, watching me.

"So," I said awkwardly, "Where are you off to?"

"Same as you."

"That doesn't answer my question."

"I'm going to vandalize your village."

"Much better." He laughed a bit, then told me he better get going. We headed off to different sides, and walked away from each other.

I approached the ground door, and ran down to Paul's end and quickly jumped out of the chamber. I stood up, starring into the forest. I ran through the forest, and waited for a group of people to pass and I joined them, walking towards the middle of town. I branched out of the crowd and started exploring the city. I walked into a little candy shop, and looked around. Everything looked so happy and childish.

I left the store, remembering I had brought absolutely no money. I sighed as I walked out and bumped into a body as I turned the corner. Our eyes met and my heart dropped and a million butterflies were released into my stomach. He had perfect brunette hair, a strong jawline, and he didn't smile. He was wearing shorts and a Santa Cruz shirt. I looked down at my feet, and noticed he was wearing ripped up green Vans.
