"Yes!" That was the only word that was able to escape her lips when she started to cry. He stood up and excitedly but calmly put the ring on her finger. All eyes were on them, but they didn't care. You heard applause from the surrounding tables, everyone smiling. Whispers of 'awws' and 'congratulations' filled the air. This moment was theirs. He pulled her into a hug and hushfully whispered in her ear. "You can have the wedding of your dreams, Amy. Whatever you want, it's yours." He smiled and hugged her tightly. The only thing she could do was smile.
The night went on, filled with smiles and laughter. They went to the park after they ate and did the one thing that they both enjoyed the most from there child hood: swinging. Amy climbed on the swing and Aj stepped behind it, Amy going higher with every push. They wasted away time as if it were just a figment of their imaination.
By the time the two got back to their home, it was 9:45 pm. Right away the two started working away with planning the wedding. By the time the two fall fast asleep in each others arms, it was agreed that when Aj's airplain landed, bringing him home, a limosuin would pick him up and bring him to the church, thus beginning the wedding ceremony. Since the date Aj would be coming home was uncertain, no reservations could be made. Everything would have to be ready for the moment his home life resumed. They talked to Amy's parents and agreed to have the wedding reception at their house, as for the wedding which would be heald at the their childhood church.
The two slept as soundly as you would ever think. The alarm on the bedside table was set for 4:30 am so the two could wake and go to the airport for one final goodbye. Amy spent the night dreaming of the special day. The flowers were white, the arch was white, even the shose on her feet were white. Everything was the way she planned, perfect. It was all perfect, only up until Amy rolled over in hear bed and woke up to the sun shining in her face. The perfect sight of her wedding faded to grey when Amy opened her eyes and read the time on the clock with her sleepy eyes.
"9:37 am?!" She sat up quickly, wiping her eyes with one hand, the other searching the bed for Aj. "Aj. Wake up. You missed your --" Amy's voice shattered when she opened her eyes and saw nothing but a single rose and a note on Aj's side of the bed. "--flight."
