The drive home seemed to go on forever, but soon enough, she pulled up to her house. It looked different. She slowly got out of her car and closed the door. For a moment, she just leaned up against her car, imagining what their lives could have been like together. They would have grown old together. Their kids would have been beautiful. She sighed and started up the walk when she noticed that something was wrong. The front door was ajar. She slowly walked in.

"Hello?" She called into the, what she thought to be, empty house. A tad frightened, she noticed a red gleam from the kitchen table. She carefully walked over and uncovered where this gleam of red came from. The bracelet. It was intact. It seemed like a miracle, but only she couldn't help to think about how this is possible and who could be in her house. For a moment, she studied the bracelet, which looked good as new. Her eyes rose from the bracelet and she started to search the house.

Amy wandered about the house, traveling up and down the stairs, back and forth down the hallway until she heard a faint noise coming from her bedroom. Amy tip-toed her way through the house, unsure of what it was she was about to uncover. The truth? Or more lies? She stopped at the door and took a deep breath, making as little sound as possible. She reached out and slowly, but hesitantly, opened the door. The fear alone was mentally stirring, but the sight was astounding. She couldn't tell who or what this unknown figure was that was in her bedroom because the sun from the window shone behind it, making it only a mere shadow.

Amy gripped the bracelet in her hand, ready to run from the stranger that was lurking in her home. Suddenly, she heard a familiar laugh from this stranger, one that made Amy feel safe. Was this 'stranger' really a stranger? The grip she once had on the bracelet was gone, but that didn't stop the hairs on the back of her neck from standing up.

"Why aren't I running yet?" Amy thought to herself.

The shadowy figure began to approach her. She was scared and unsure why she didn't flee from his reach. This 'stranger' stopped in front of Amy and gave her a look that made her feel secure. He calmly looked her in the eyes.

"Man . . . and here I thought wishes came true, but you don't look very happy to see me. " The words flowed from his lips as if he'd known exactly what to say from the start.
