They say love can be found almost anywhere, but they never really say what kind of love it is you may find. Some look for love, and some just let it happen on it's own. Some have love that lasts a moment, others find love that lasts a life time. No one was there to tell Amy or Aj what kind of love they had found. All they knew was that they had it and wouldn't let anything come between it.
Amy was just a simple young girl living a simple teenage life. She grew up in a small town and fell into the same routine every day. She would go to school, go to work, do home work, and occasionally have a laugh or two with her friends. Being in 9th grade limited her freedom, but that didn't stop her from making her life as happy as she could.
She went into class one day, and, as always the geek of the class, Aj, greeted her with a shy smile on his face. Amy never associated with him and thought he wasn't the brightest kid she'd seen. She gave Aj a nasty look and turned to her friends and walked to her seat. She sat in her seat, only to look up and realize what she had done to this young boy. She noticed as he did this to every student who walked in the door, his facial expression became more and more upset. She couldn't help but feel a rush of guilt as she watched tear filled eyes and guilt take over this innocent young boy.
Later on in the class, the teacher explained how she would be pairing up the students to work on a project for their world cultures class. She heard all her friends names be paired with some of the cutest guys in class and watched the girls' faces brush when they smiled to them. Seconds passed until she realized that herself and Aj were the only two students left. She heard the teacher finally announce that the two would be partners for the project. She felt her stomach drop when she heard this.
As the rest of the class, she picked up her books and crossed the room. She slowly, and hesitantly, sat down in the seat next to Aj. As the class was instructed to start their projects, Amy quickly looked at all her friends, giving each a worried look. Each one sent her an 'I'm-sorry-for-you' look. She thought to herself, 'maybe I'm just overreacting. Maybe this wont be as bad as I think it will.' She turned back to Aj and he gave her a small, shy smile.
Time flew by, and by the class was over. Amy looked up to the clock and the bell rang for the classes to switch. She didn't know she would enjoy working with Aj that much that minutes would seem like seconds when she was working with him. Amy and Aj exchanged one last, small smile in the hall and they went their ways to class. Amy went to her next class happy, with this feeling in her chest that even Amy didn't understand. It wasn't until she returned home later that day that she understood how she felt: excited to work with him again.
Day after day, she would find herself having a great time while working with Aj during class. Amy felt sad when she left his side every day, and she also felt alone. Amy felt happy when she was with him, and realized that she started to like Aj, as the days went by in class. Every once in a while, Amy would give Aj hints that she liked him, knowing that Aj liked her as well. Since Aj was the type of boy who was always being made fun of by people, he never really understood what Amy ment when she were to drop these hints. This made Amy frusterated and after a while, she became annoyed at how little he actually knew she felt.
One day, Amy stumbled across Aj's number in a friends cell phone and asked if it was alright to take it. She went home that day, happy as can be because she could actually talk to Aj out side of school. She texted him and, to Aj, this was a surprise since he had always been a tad geeky and his luck with girls wasn't the best. Every time the two would talk, their conversations carried on for hours, filled with interest about many different topics. She didn't know how Aj truely felt, but she knew that her heart would skip a beat every time she saw his name on her cell phone. After spending a day with each other, he noticed that she never took her eyes off him and she was always eager to hear what he had to say next. It made her happy, and Aj could see it. Why?
Because he was starting to feel the same way about her.
