Amy stepped onto the porch of her home, inserted her key into the door, and stepped inside. She looked around, at the empty spaces of the rooms. She flicked a lamp on in the lifing room and propped Aj's jacket on the recliner, sitting on the couch across the room. Amy suddenly felt tired and lounged herself on the couch. One minute, she's thinking of all the pain and harm she had caused. The next minute, she's even more then sound asleep.
Amy woke up to the sun shining on her face. She streched her arms out in front of her and sat up slowly. The smile she woke with was quickly turned when she looked across the room and saw Aj's jacket resting on the recliner. She stood up all too fast and glided to the jacket. She sat it on the floor before her and frantically searched high and low. She suddenly stopped searching when she found a little green box that consisted of a timeline of their life toegther and a small note. This note was quite beautiful in Amy's tear filled eyes. She opened it and read, in her head, the nine short words that were scribbled on the paper.
"I'll be back. I know I will . . . for her."
Amy smiled as a small crystal clear tear fell from her eye. Her head shot up when she remembered that he was taked to the hospital. She gathered Aj's jacket, grabbed her own, her car keys and bolted out the door. Her hands shook as she attempted to unlock her car door. Finally she got the key to turn. She sat down quietly in the seat, pull her seatbelt across her and started the engine. She pulled from her house and nearly ran over everything she passed. She was shaking and scared. When she got to the hospital, she parked the car and walked up to the front door. She knew that this was it.
Through the doors, Amy went into the hospital, where everything seemed calmer then it should be. She wiped away the only tear that managed to escape from her eyes. She turned her head in all different directions until she found the receptionists desk.
"Hi, I'm looking for Aj Cromand." Amy asked the receptionist. She gave Amy a warm, comforting smile and began to check her clipboard. This time, she gave off an awkward look and then began to type on her computer. When she was finished, she turned back to Amy and removed her glasses. She bagan shaking her head at the same time she began to speak.
"I'm sorry, Miss, but -- " Amy couldn't bear to hear it. Amy turned around and walked to the doors. Before she even set foot on the cement sidewalk in front of the hospital, the tears from her eyes flowed as if they'd never stopped. She was sad, but not shocked. She walked to her car and climbed in the drivers seat. For a moment, she cried. Nothing more, nothing less. After crying in the parking lot for some time, she finally went home for good.
She realized it was over.
He was gone.
Forever.
