'' What is the matter with you? '' I hardly reach Akali. I hold her arm and make her face me before she steps any further inside of her room.

'' Why did you do this? '' She screams at me. I don't know what I've done wrong. I have no idea what she hints at.

'' I can request another room for her if it bothers you this much. '' I assume she doesn't want to share her place. I can tell this isn't what annoys her from her reaction. Akali never shouts at me. She's a very calm person especially towards me.

'' Why you never used those abilities before? '' She points out. '' Why now? '' Her finger is on my chest.

'' I was trying new things. That's all. '' I calmly answer her. Akali won't understand if I tell her the person who was with us isn't as simple as she thinks she is. It's Katarina Du Couteaux. She comes from the house of the best assassins in the area.

'' I want to stay alone. '' I don't understand Akali's request nor why she is acting this way. She's making a big deal of it although she knows it is part of my training scheme that I don't show my actual abilities. I don't argue, I just leave her room.

No one knows how Katarina Du Couteaux looks like. I didn't as well until I saw her running away from the guards when they found her in my father's van. They drew a scar over her eye as well and she is using her thick red hair to hide it.

Katarina doesn't know that I was there the moment my father was found dead. She doesn't know I have been tracking her for days and that I followed her into the Leary jungle. The only reason I had to show up was because of her wolf friend, Warwick. He sensed my presence and I had to stop hiding.

I head towards the battleground where I left Warwick and Katarina, or Katja as she named herself. Before I leave the castle, I find both of them at the gate. Katja is speaking to the guard while Warwick stands behind.

'' What's wrong? '' I direct my question to the guard.

'' She wants to let this stranger in. '' The guard forbids Warwick from coming in.

'' He isn't a stranger he is my friend. '' She defends the wolf while he silently stands behind without saying anything.

'' Yeah, he is a friend. '' As I say the words the guard lets both of them in. Katja is still hiding her scar. Her hair is long, too long for an assassin but she doesn't care. She tries to fasten her steps like Warwick's, but I notice how hard it is for her as she pants when she walks besides him.

'' Akali wants some time alone Katja. '' I stop them from going inside her room. I use Akali as an excuse, the actual reason is that I don't want the wolf inside the castle. I only pretend I trust both of them. Even if I trust Katarina, I won't trust a wolf.

'' Alright. Then I guess I have to accompany Warwick out of here. '' She tries to take him away. Warwick's eyes aren't on neither of us. He is looking everywhere around him. He can be using his wolf instincts which makes me think of a reason to forbid him from coming in again. I nod and Katja takes Warwick out of the castle.

I watch her walking away from me and wonder why everyone described her as the weakest among the Du Couteaux house? Her eyes say a different story.

She's the assassin who's forbidden from practicing her skills. Albert prohibited his girls from joining the Legends tournament or any other battle. No matter what their skills are nor how good they are, he wouldn't allow his daughter to join any of the fights and hence the rest of the tribe blindly followed his path.

My father never knew why Albert took such decision, and it is still a mystery for everyone else.

'' And then he asks what the matter with me is. '' Akali scares me off. I haven't noticed she was here.

'' Since when you've been here? '' I try to hide my surprise.

'' Don't worry. I don't fancy watching you fancy her. '' Akali is being so sensitive towards Katarina. I face her and lock her gaze.

I still remember how Akali and I met, she used to sneak in to the battleground and watch us train. She loved to wear a mask on and challenge us too. And that's how she came up with the idea of joining the League tournament. But after all this time, it's only this year when she had enough courage to register.

Everyone said that Akali had feelings for me, and they were too sure of their words. You are the only one who's too blind to see that. Even my father confirmed this for me. I take slow steps towards her and she steps backwards.

We stand in the darkest spot of the corridor and her face is too close to mine. For a second, I feel lost in her emerald eyes. They are wide open, reflecting her restless soul. They remind me of what everyone else was saying. She's into you. I lose myself in that moment and my lips are searching for hers.

'' Garen! '' Before our lips collide, one of the guard's shouts from behind. Akali runs back into her room. She avoids staring at me.

'' Yes? '' I coldly respond to the large silhouette standing behind me. I walk a few steps out of the darkness and stand where I can be seen.

'' You have a visitor. He is waiting for you in the main Hall. '' The guard doesn't seem happy with this visit. His voice shakes as he speaks of it. I watch Akali's closed door and nod for the guard who starts walking ahead of me and I follow.
