namjoon's eyes go wide. miyoon just called him 'daddy'.

though, he was too focused on the fact that his son was safe to acknowledge it. "miyoon!" he cries out, quickly getting out of his chair and bending down to the boy's level to hug him.

he wraps his arms tightly around the toddler, tears of joy falling from his eyes. he places a hand behind miyoon's head and cradles him toward his chest.

"baby, i love you so much" namjoon let out a choked sigh of relief. "i'm so sorry, yoon." he whispers, pulling the boy closer. miyoon pushes away from namjoon.

tears were streaming down his face - he looked terrified.

his lips quiver, "w-why didn't you help?!" the boy sobs. namjoon could almost physically feel his heart break as he watches miyoon cry. "i got huwt!" he frowns.

namjoon and jin exchange a glance of worry. "sir, let me explain" the man behind the desk says, while the one at the door pulls miyoon back outside and shuts the door. namjoon hurries back to his seat. "what happened to my son?! why'd he say he was hurt?!" namjoon shouts, demanding an answer.

"calm down, please" the officer pleads. jin reaches out for namjoon's hand and strokes his thumb across the younger's palm. jin then gives him an assuring look, and namjoon takes a deep breath. "okay." he exhales slowly.

"so as you can probably see, someone called in saying that they found miyoon. they said miyoon was spotted in the back seat of a man's car, that'd been headed down some abandoned road." he continues, "after we finally tracked the car down, we found miyoon in... not the best condition." namjoon angrily furrows his eyebrows. "what do you mean 'not the best condition'?" he snaps.

"we took some pictures after we brought him in. have a look for yourself." the officer turns the computer so that it was now facing the boys sitting ahead of him. on the screen, was a picture of a little boy's arm. there'd been several bruises and small scratches across it.

next, another picture of a little boy's damaged leg shows up - littered in several dark purple spots. namjoon was furious with himself.

"that's my son?!!" he yells. but, the officer wasn't done yet. "it appears that some drug must've been put into his system, which is why he you just saw him acting up a bit." namjoon's heart drops. that was why miyoon called him daddy.

"drug?! my son was drugged?!!" namjoon screams, slamming his hands onto the desk. jin flinches at the sudden increase of volume. "we also brought you here for permission to get him hospitalized. we want the doctors to rule out whatever is in his system and give more detailed information on his currently state." "then what the hell are you waiting for?!" the angered adult raises his voice.

jin looks up at namjoon and quietly begs, "calm down, namjoon, please." namjoon storms out of the room.

after opening to door to leave, he slams it shut and turns his back against the wall aside of the door. he slides down, and draws his knees to his chest. he drops his head to them, letting out all his emotions in the salty liquid falling from the corners of his eyes.

jin apologizes to the officer, asking to excuse himself for a second. he leaves the room, now trying to put together where namjoon could've gone. he was interrupted by the sound of someone whimpering on his left. he looks down to the floor, mentally pouting when he sees that the owner of the sound had been namjoon.

"namjoon..." he bends down, tapping the youngests' shoulder. "don't cry" jin knew that namjoon certainly wouldn't listen to that.

"didn't you hear miyoon?" namjoon croaks. "namjoon, he's scared. he's blurting out things because he's upset." namjoon brings his hand up to his cheeks, wiping at the wet skin. "it's my fault! miyoon was even hurt!" he stutters.

"i don't know how many times i have to tell you," jin sighs out loud. he tilts his head, gently grabbing ahold of namjoon's chin.

he leans in and attaches his lips to namjoon's, slowly moving against them. namjoon froze. his face was insanely heated as he feels jin slowly pull away. their eyes flutter open and they lock gazes.

"but it's not your fault"
