"so, is he okay?" jin hurriedly asks. the doctor gives a small smile.
"yes, he is. he's already recovering well, and we've removed the bullet from his arm..." jin let out a fat sigh of relief, now smiling a bit. "thank god"
the doctor nervously chuckles. she pushes a piece of hair behind her hair, "but..."
jin scrunches his eyebrows. "but what?" his head snaps back up. the doctor doesn't reply. his facial expression drops completely. "what do you mean but?!" he raises his voice. "did he fall when this happened?" she asks, concernedly. jin stops to think back to himself for a second.
"yeah, when he got shot, he fell back against a brick wall, but it h-" "no wonder" she mumbles, cutting him off. "no wonder what?!!" jin shouts. he was getting pissed off at the fact that she wasn't telling him what the previous 'but' was referring to.
"from what we know so far, mr.kim is currently dealing with memory loss. it's very common after a fall. he must've fallen harder against the wall than you think." jin only gulps.
"but it's temporary, right?"
no reply.
he angrily repeats himself, "right?!"
"from the looks of it right now, it may be long term" she sighs. frozen was an understatement to describe jin's current state.
"he's open for visitors right now, but i'll give you some time alone." she says before walking away.

"i want to go home!!" he cries. "why? what happened?" yoongi asks, watching as hoseok runs over to his best friend.
hoseok quickly embraces a crying jin in a tight hug, rubbing the elder's back as he cries into his shoulder. "what happened, jin?" hoseok restates, speaking calmly. "i can't do this" jin begins sobbing, uncontrollably. hoseok starts to get an uneasy feeling in his stomach, assuming that jin's behaviour meant namjoon was gone.
"jin, breath please." "yeah, calm down." yoongi adds from the side.
"he permanently lost his memory" jin sobs even harder than before, wrapping his arms around hoseok's neck snugly. hoseok looks over to yoongi in shock, asking for help on how to respond in the short look they shared. yoongi just shrugs.
hoseok whispers assuring words to jin, before yoongi decides to talk.
"so what if he lost his memory? it's like a fresh start. it sucks but we cant do anything about it. but what you can do is be there for him."
jin lifts his head from resting beneath hoseok's hand, to meet yoongi's face. jin's face was stained in tears carrying his very emotions.
"jin, you need to see him. now"
