Gage
As I rolled out of bed due to my stupid alarm clock, I realized I was clutching a stuffed bear. One that could only belong to my six year old sister, Leah.
I did not fall asleep with a bear in my hands, heck it wasn't even in my bed when I fell asleep!
You see, I love Leah, she is the best sister anyone could ask for. She is so adorable! She has almost bleach blonde colored hair that is always up in pigtails. She has light green eyes that are almost identical to mine except hers are more of an emerald green, whereas mine are more of a grassy green with specks of brown hinted throughout. She also has the cutest personality.
My favorite thing about her is when she puts her stuffed bear, Muffins, in my hands when she feels that I am stressed out or sad. Is that not adorable?
Unfortunately, this happens quite often. I get a lot of recurring nightmares. I try to keep quiet when they happen, but occasionally my mom hears and I will wake up to her rubbing my back and running her hand through my hair. It almost feels like she swaddles me as if I were still a baby. Honestly, I think she still feels guilty about the past, but she shouldn't. It wasn't her fault.
Anyways, as I rolled out of bed, I clearly was not paying attention as I landed on my bedroom floor with a thud.
"Teddy, are you okay?" My mom yelled as I heard her dashing up the stairs.
Now you might ask why she calls me Teddy, well the answer is simple, somehow I always end up with Muffins in my hands when I wake up even though I swear Leah is the one putting him there.
As I was thinking about the dilemma with Muffins and how to prove it to everyone, I heard my bedroom door slam open, and in walked the beautiful lady I get to call my mom.
My mom and my dad split when I was eleven, my mom was pregnant at the time, and I have not seen him since. My mom is my inspiration in life. Seeing her crash when my father left was devastating; however, seeing her rebuild while taking care of two awesome kids, was pretty amazing.
We have our ups and downs of course, and there has been a history that we prefer to forget, but we are really close, and for that I am so unbelievably grateful.
"Hey Mom," I said sarcastically, once she noticed I was on the floor.
"Geez Louise Teddy, you scared me there for a second," she muttered quietly. I instantly felt bad for not responding. My mom was my biggest supporter in life, and having that worried some look on her face was not something I wanted to see ever again.
"I'm sorry mom, I didn't mean to scare you," I muttered.
"It's alright Teddy, just make sure you get to school on time since I have to run Leah to school. Okay? Don't forget that I love you either mister" she said as she walked out of the room. Leah's school started after mine did so there was no way I could take her to school, but the drive to Leah's kindergarten was a bit of a distance, and since my mom worked near Leah's school she drove her to school.
"Love you too mom," I yelled, hoping she heard.
After looking at the clock, with it reading 6:45, with school starting at 7:40, I began scrambling to get ready. I know what you're thinking, why would it take me 55 minutes to get ready? Well, getting to school takes about 10 minutes, I like being there around 10 minutes early so I can walk the halls and make sure the wanna be bad boys know who the real boss is, and the rest of the time, I need it for my hair. I am telling you, it isn't as easy as it looks, being this handsome.
