Gage
After the final bell rang, I headed towards Amelia's locker, ready to work on our project. We had both agreed that working on the project at her house would work best.
Normally, she rides with Morgan to and from school, but I offered to give her a ride, and she surprisingly said yes!
As I saw her approaching the lockers with Morgan, I started making my way towards her. I was walking up behind her, when I suddenly got a devious idea.
I motioned a 'shh' sign towards Morgan and snuck up behind Amelia before gripping her shoulders gently and pulling her back into my chest.
Once I heard a small yelp, I started chuckling and smiling victoriously. I quickly and gently grabbed her arm and started tugging Amelia with me while giving a quick wave to Morgan.
"Gage!" I heard before I received a smack on my arm, as Amelia and I were walking to my car.
"Ouch, Angel! You're bruising my feelings with that hit!" I said teasingly. Amelia just rolled her eyes and climbed into my truck and slamming the door as soon as I unlocked it.
"Gentle Angel, this right there is my baby girl".
"I thought I was your baby girl," she said, but then smacked her hands over her mouth quickly, almost as if she was embarrassed for saying it.
"Of course you are, sweetheart," I joked while pulling her into a tight hug. I rested my head in the crook of her neck, and inhaled, smelling the sweet scent of peaches. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.
As Amelia pulled away, just until our foreheads were touching, I noticed some hair fell in front of her shockingly gorgeous, blue eyes, and gently brushed them away with the pads of my thumbs. We were staring right back at each other.
Whenever our eyes locked my heart beat sped up, I could almost feel an instant blanket of security and trust just by looking in her eyes.
Just when I thought she was going to say something, I accidentally put too much pressure on my car horn, and it quickly made us pull apart at the horrid sound, with Amelia looking sheepish, and me glaring at the horn.
In order to avoid the awkward silence, I quickly turned on my car, and blasted the radio before taking off out of the school parking lot.
Unfortunately, luck was not on my side as the first song that came on was a romantic one. I hurriedly switched the station to a country station so that we did not have to hear any implications.
I know that I want to make Amelia my girlfriend, but I also know that she is not ready for that yet. So hearing that kind of music after the moment that we just shared might make her extremely uncomfortable.
As we are driving down the street, I politely ask her for her address, and once she gives it to me, I realize it's just a few minutes away from the school, and pretty soon we are pulling into her driveway.
As Amelia was ready to get out of her side of the car, I told her to wait, and pretty soon I was running to open her door.
When I got there, I held out my hand and said "My lady!"
"I see that somebody has some manners," she responds teasingly as she takes my hand.
As soon as her feet touch the ground, she lets go of my hand and races to the front door, quickly opening it before rushing to the kitchen. I go at a much slower pace, as I want to absorb the place where my Amelia grew up.
As I finally waltz in to the kitchen, I see Amelia has made a sandwich and is now going for some chips. I quickly decided that I am hungry, so I swoop in and take a big bite of her sandwich before she noticed. However, my excitement over the food was short lived.
